OT: Nats, Wiz, O's, Ravens, Terps, Navy, Gtown, Mystics, Golf, Summer 2022

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

The way the Wiz are going, they will get a few bites at the “top of the draft” Apple. Not sure one prospect is worth reading away from that
This, ultimately. The Wiz aren't going anywhere for a couple of years. My only concern is that, say, the '26 draft class turns out to be super weak, just like the 2024 draft class. But the way Washington is playing, we're looking at next 5+ years in the lottery. So be patient.

The fact that we have significantly higher odds of picking 5th than we have of picking 1st, despite by far the worst record, tells me the NBA isn't a serious league. Their lottery continues to be the dumbest thing around.

I just simmed 10 lotteries. We got 5th 6 times. We got 1st once. 3rd or 4th the other times.

It's a sport where one player plays 30ish out of 48 minutes. A first overall pick is most valuable in the NBA than the other sports. Therefore it has the flattest odds of any of those sports

With several watching of Flagg it feels like high floor rather than high ceiling so a safe pick.

I've watched the last three Rutgers games (another one I believe just started). Rutgers offense is very strange. Harper will have the ball in his hands and get his points pretty easy and he generally looks great. Bailey completely different matter they literally don't run any plays for him. Credit to Ace to not getting frustrated and getting selfish. The athleticism/length are amazing to me probably the highest upside. I'd draft Harper today at #1, Bailey #2, and Flagg #3.

How does Rutgers have 2 top draft picks and still sucks? I’m a Terps fan and watch Big Ten and nothing about them stands out to me.

Watching Maryland and Queen and go beat down on them with a superior team will give MD the props they deserve. Queen screams to me a decent NBA starter.

Watched one game of Edgecombe but was a not a good one as he didn't do well.

Knueppel/Jakucionis full on pass big time.

Tre Johnson and Fears are intriguing to me.

Watched some Demin games in the last couple of weeks after a hot start meh but also seems he seems passive.

They're not top draft picks based solely on how good they are today. They're top picks based on how good they are projected to be from approximately 3-15 years from now.

I was looking at Wemby future odds for D player of the year last night and he was by far the favorite.

Crazy those huge dudes cant last a NBA season.

Go UMD basketball!

Men won again and are vying for some BG10 supremacy.

Top 20 team, and seemingly catching fire.

Fun fact: they are 21-6. Take a guess how many combined points they lost this 6 games by?

I know you all will look it up. Its IMPRESSIVE. Not one game getting hammered. In EVERY game.

They are a dark horse

Pretty big game for the Terps in College Park tonight. Odd 6:30 start time on BTN. (Boo)
The Terps have had the best starting 5 this season have have a fun nick name The Crab 5. It will be a problem if any of them get in early foul trouble.

I will never understand the lottery system. Why not just do it like the NFL?
Because it’s too easy to tank in the NBA when a future HOF talent is there for the taking.

In the NFL, bad teams “accidentally” win a game here or there and it changes draft orders….in the much longer NBA season, a win here or there rarely is as impactful.
