Nationwide Arena/CBJ Finances Discussion III

Thought this latest on Nationwide Arena was thread-worthy.

The most recent thread I found on the topic of the arena and finances and local politics/development is linked below, started in 2011 and last post in 2019. Prior to 20111, there were several "business/tax/finances side" threads, search Nationwide Arena finances and I think they'll show up, if you're interested.

Well needed. While it still holds up as a great arena in the league I don't think anyone ever wants to say it used to be a great arena. Being a top notch facility with a strong future vision should be the continued goal.

And a better or comparable scoreboard to our AHL affiliate won't hurt either.

I wonder if they ever corrected the issue with the Front St entrance sinking. When I worked there there was some concern about the glass wall at that entrance because the plaza was sinking. I know they've done some work out there the past few offseasons, though.

I've always thought they should swap the box office with the Blue Line store. Makes more sense to have the box office at the more obvious "main" entrance. One of my favorite interactions ever was the year the Leafs were our home opener opponent and Auston Matthews' parents came to my remote window at that entrance and his dad pitched a fit that I didn't have the physical willcall tickets for them and they'd have to walk around the building instead of going through, since NWA doesn't have an interior unticketed space like some arenas do. I watched his mother notice in real time as I recognized her (Auston looks exactly like her, just with less hair) and then pull her husband away thanking me for my time. It was so funny. But all the other offices are back behind and above the box office so it makes sense to have it there.

I’m aware of three renovations in the last three years or so. The bar behind section 118 has been changed into a fan interactive zone. Area behind Club sections one through six was extended over the concourse and is now a premium “all inclusive” section. And finally, there’s some sort of bar/build your own taco chipotle style area under under sections 105-6 I think.
