Based on what i've seen so far he's light years from the England or French team... Certainly an easier path through England than France which is stating the obvious.
He's certainly not light years.
He's starting for St Étienne and his impact has been huge.

Looks like there is going to be some push back on releasing players over the international break that will have to miss additional games due to quarantine rules

Liverpool make major decision on four players to avoid selection nightmare - Liverpool Echo

Alisson, Firmino and Fabinho are all in the Brazil squad for World Cup qualifiers in Chile and at home to Argentina and Peru.

With the final game against Peru not taking place until 1.30am UK time on Friday, September 10, there were already fears the trio would not be back in time for Liverpool's trip to Leeds United on Sunday, September 12, which kicks off at 4.30pm.

However, current Government rules mean they would in any case have to quarantine and miss the Leeds game along with Liverpool's first Champions League group game and the home clash with Crystal Palace on September 18.

Can’t find the list of players. But it looks like Manchester City is doing similar.

Edit: Looks like all Premier League teams are not releasing players for matches in Red List countries

Flick nominates his first squad, including u21 champions Ridle Baku, Florian Wirtz, Karim Adeyemi, Nico Schlotterbeck & David Raum.

Feels like a back 4 just judging from the roster...and Mats needing a break.

Maybe something like:
Havertz/Werner
Wirtz/Musiala - Müller/Reus - Sane/Adeyemi
Goretzka/Gundogan - Kimmich/Neuhaus
Gosens/Raum - Süle/Schlotterbeck - Klostermann - Baku

Here is Kuntz' new u21 roster

Maybe?

Moukoko - Burkardt
Katterbach/John - Stiller - Becker - Massimo/Mbom
Krauß
Mai - Bella Kotchap - Thiaw
Mantl

Leweling - Moukoko - Burkardt

How excited are you for this new era on a scale of 1-10?

There will be a transition period, at least through the WM, before we've moved on from the Neuer / Hummels / Müller / Reus generation...but that has been long overdue & better utilizing our youth is a stated goal for this new regime. Which we are fortunate to have quite a bit of across the board...as long as this crop of young CBs develops better than the Süle / Tah / Kehrer generation did.

Antonio Colak made Croatia and Birmancevic made Serbia for the upcoming qualifers.. 2 Malmö players. Very unusual that 2 players from Swedish league gets a spot for the Croatian and Serbian NT.

Good day for him, he also got a contract update at Brugge today, with an extra season (till 2025 now) and more money I guess. Although I'm not under the illusion he'll be here next year.

I read that. Good for all parties involved. Any idea how much Brugge could be getting for him?

Hard to put a number on it but they just sold Odilon Kossounou to Leverkusen €30m and they will definitely look to top that.
Since we don't have Ajax' reputation I think for Brugge anything from 35 to 40m would be acceptable.

Kwadwo Baah & Juan Cabrera have been called up to the german U19s for the 4-nations tourney, after having previously played for England & Uruguay's youth teams (respectively).

With Gosens out for months, Ilkay & Mo banged up, and Hummels still getting into form, Flick has announced his next roster...featuring returns for MAtS & Ginter.

Guessing we see something like:

Werner
Sane - Reus/Müller/Havertz- Musiala/Gnabry
Kimmich - Goretzka
Kehrer - Rüdiger/Ginter - Süle - Hofmann
Neuer/MAtS

With Wirtz & Adeyemi off the bench...though I can see him giving Wirtz a run at that more central attacking spot behind Werner.

I'd like to see Kai or Wirtz playing as a false 9 over Timo, but I don't mind Flick trying to get Werner going.

I'd also play Klostermann with Kehrer & Süle, but I can get Flick picking a more established/stable option as the 3rd CB in the back 4...especially since that LCB spot is likely to be where he eventually plops Hummels.

Sounds like Wolfsburg & Dortmund talked to Flick about leaving Baku & Reus with their clubs for this break.

I suspect that with Baku that was more about letting him focus on his personal development while Flick continues testing Jonas out at RWB, since Schmatdke had grumbled when Flick sent Baku home early from the previous international break. With Reus, otoh, I suspect that's more from the Dortmund side wanting him to get some rest.

Neuer has been the greatest keeper in german history, and as long as he wants to play for the NT it is hard to transition to anyone else because after every goal there will be people calling for Neuer's return & the papers will be filled with questioning headlines...plus the WM is just a little over a year away at this point...so I get Flick coming out & saying that Neuer is his #1, even with ter Stegen returning to fitness for this international break.

...but I still can't help but wish that he had been able to convince Manuel that it was time for him to pass the gloves to MAtS; so we could finally see ter Stegen play in goal for the NT with full confidence.

Especially if he is planning to reintegrate Hummels once he gets more into mid-season form. Playing the old & noticeably slower-than-he-used-to-be Neuer behind the not-as-old but also slower-than-he-used-to-be Hummels, is just asking for teams to burn us on the counter...even with a competent midfield in front of them, much more coherent pressing schemes, and much faster guys like Süle, Kehrer, Klostermann & Uduokhai, to surround them with.

Mats is hardly in the best form. Taking easy shots on the ground at first post isn't helping.
Barca fans won't admit it, but he's lost a step since that Bayern demolition. Something isn't right.

Evill with his false narrative lol
False narrative?
Nah, you just refuse to see the weak goals he surrenders and only focus on the good saves he makes.
MATS once was a top 3 goalie, zero doubt. Right now and it's been the case for a while, he surrenders some pretty bad goals. One reason is probably that he holds zero trust in the defensemen in front of him. But that goal for instance isn't worthy of a top 3 goalie.
