Two late pens from Saurez not enough as Uruguay goes down to the mighty Ecuador.

I say that in jest obviously, but didn’t Ecuador win a youth tournament recently?

Neymar’s penalties save the day for Brazil. Peru finish the game with 9 men on the pitch.

Palacios played a great game for me right up there for MOTM. I really hope Bayer's coach watched that game he was immense. The whole midfield was subbed out but he played 90 minutes. Never have RDP,Paredes ever played that well for the NT. Tremendous player.

Messi's effort in this game shouldnt go unnoticed. He helped create the 2nd goal and on a better day he easily couldve got a couple of more assists. Lautaro was horrible the ball died on his feet numerous times. Although he worked his ass off. He did well on the 2nd goal too.

All in all this was a massive game for Argentina and you can tell how much it means to them by their effort and celebrations. Not sure why Bolivia acted like idiots after the game though.

Pots for UEFA's World Cup qualifying groups are about set, big week for Denmark who look like a lock for Pot 1 while Netherlands will just about pip Switzerland for the last spot. The two Irelands + Slovakia fighting for the final spot in Pot 2, the rest is pretty much settled. The draw will take place in December using the November FIFA Rankings

Yeah. Dark night for the United States.

That said, I think the US is picking up some steam in development for some of these young players. It doesn't look as bleak as it did (though I still am not quite sure I think the manager is the right choice, and the Federation is still a mess), between the progression Gio, McKennie, and Adams have seen to make. Add in the fact that I think no one really expected Dest to declare, they actually look like they have some parts to go with Pulisic.

Davies is certainly awesome, and he gives any team who is going to play Canada nightmares, but I think the US should be better suited at this point.

Oh the US is definitely better suited, that is clear.

We are having a great run of prospects in Canada and the squad has become better overall, but we are still behind the US.

I heard that Neymar passed Ronaldo Nazario on Brazil’s all time goal scoring list.

Neymar has 64 goals for Brazil. An astonishing 42 of those goals are from friendly matches. I know that South American players have a higher level of friendly goals in relation to their competitive match goals in comparison to Europeans, due to an extra qualifying cycle in Europe, but even comparing Neymar just to South Americans here, that is a very high percentage of goals that come through friendlies. He almost doubles his production in friendly matches compared to what he has produced in competitive matches.

Scaloni needs to sort out a few things. Remove Armani from goal. Martinez in. Musso out with injury unfortunately. Remove Otamendi. Senesi, Quarta maybe even Medina of Lens in.And remove Paredes. One of the biggest charlatans ever to don the blue and white. So overrated. Get Palacios, Lo Celso and de Paul loose in midfield.

Right back maybe take a look at Alexandro Bernabei of Lanus.

Lisandro just got called up because of an injury. So thats good news. Medina is already in. Just need Romero and Senesi in and Kanneman/Otamendi out.

Jude Bellingham, 17, gets his first England call-up.

Looks like my hot-take stood up.

Hot take: Bellingham will be called up to the England squad by the end of the year.

Bellingham will be in the next England squad. He’s better than all those midfielders.

Where would Bellingham be right now if he had signed with one of the big six in England? Would he have even debuted yet?

Finland giving France the business at the Stade de France
Atm 0-2 against defending world champions on their home ground with 2nd team, not bad. France will probably score a goal or two, but nonetheless pretty good effort from finnish youngsters.

21 year old Brentford striker Marcus Forss, who's highly scouted by Dortmund scored a goal also, great debut so far.
