I wish Nate all the best. Not many people are born with an attitude like Schmitty and he was a breath of fresh air. Losing him and Dillon will set the locker room back a bit but it’s time to clear some cap space make some room on the Blue line so here we go.

Schmidt was clearly a great teammate and guy during his time in the 'Peg. Always injecting energy and positivity even when he was relegated to the press box. Not a lot of veteran guys would be like that. I wish him all the best in his future endeavours.

Very good business move by the Jets to buyout Schmidt, as the value was just not there. When you have a player making $ 6.5 mil per year, and he's a healthy scratch, it's time to get rid of the guy.
