They won't get better but they might go back to a respectable form if they can find a way to get some chemistry going.

Also getting some cheap contracts for depth will be big. There might be some gems out there if they get lucky.

Everything remains fluid and a single call, email, text, whatever could blow this thing wide open with Nashville making a bunch of trades, or they might just sniff around, get some ideas for the prices of certain players and take a few weeks to relax then come back and see what deals can be made.

The most important thing to remember is this: the Nashville Predators believe that (whichever UFA’s agent paid me last) is a 15 million dollar player in the national hockey league whether it’s with the Predators or with another team.

He has no plan. Poille was setting the Predators up for a rebuild then they had a little hot streak after that deadline. Trotz took over and thought he could build a cup contender by signing some aging players. They just need to accept a rebuild right now, Josi isn’t getting any younger and might not play much next season with his pots diagnosis.

Net worth doesn’t necessarily equate to the willingness to lose money. David Thompson is the richest owner in the sport and the Jets were lowkey threatening Winnipeg about fan/corporate support this season. Hasso Plattner is Top 5 and the Sharks didn’t fully commit to a tear down until roughly the 4th season (Meier trade) of their current playoff drought.
