I know, I watched that game, I still think if you get up 4-1 in the 3rd you need to lock that down.

That CAN NOT get to OT.

There is A LOT wrong on that team.
there isnt anything wrong with the pens results for the team on the ice

The issue is Dubas given 7 years and expected to reverse the oldest core in the league and Crosby, Malkin, Letang not willing to be traded.

The pens are a bottom 5 team in the league on paper and results/play wise.

Crosby and Malkin are still very good at 37 and 38 but outside of those two the forward crop sucks

Defense is worse

Jarry is a bottom tier starting goalie who makes too much.

The Preds have a LOT wrong with them after gping all in the summer with UFA moves, looking good on paper and still having an elite goalie in Saros but stull struggling

Looks like it

Hopefully he plays well because he wasn't great before the suspension
Hopefully, ahem … Reaves plays well? lol. We’re talking Ryan Reaves here I wouldn’t expect much more than a hit or two and a stupid penalty with 10 seconds left in the period. Playing well for that guy would mean actually accepting a pass without it exploding off his stick

You'll probably be surprised by this, I know I was.....

"The reason I've stuck around so long is I don't take suspensions," said Reaves, who only took four minor penalties in his first 15 games this season. "I'm not in the box a lot. I try and play within the rules of the game. So, when something like that happens and a hit gets away from me, you know, I don't want to see anybody laying on the ice with a head injury, obviously.

IMO, they'll spot him in every once in awhile but he certainly won't be a regular in the lineup.

A penalty every 1/2 hour or so for a guy who plays 7 mins a night hardly seems worth mentioning.
I'd say the worst penalty rate on the team is worth mentioning. That doesn't change just because he's so bad that he doesn't play a lot.
I think people keep forgetting or not acknowledging that Reaves brings an element of deterrence and insurance should things get out of hand and turn into a clown show.
I think people keep forgetting or not acknowledging that Reaves doesn't bring any of that. He's actually more likely to create a clown show and dangerous environment for others.

Or someone takes a run at Nylander etc. Reaves will dummy someone. It's an element to the team and you need it especially around the playoffs.

The myth that never dies.

Things aren't worth mentioning when they barely have an impact, I know that won't stop you though.

I know the thread will now go off topic for a while so I think I'll do some work.
Carry on.

You're the one that brought this up. Taking stupid penalties certainly has an impact. Playing a useless player that does that at a higher rate than anybody else also has an impact.

Reaves has been silent this year when our players have been run.
I have more faith in Grebenkin.

The myth that never dies.
Berube believes it or Reeves would be waived.

Yep. Did you forget your post at the top of the page already? Post #33. Taking stupid penalties is exactly what Reaves does.
You tried to paint him as somebody that doesn't do that, when he actually takes penalties at the highest rate on the team.
You brought it up, you were wrong, and now you don't want to talk about it. That's fine. The facts don't change.

I’m ready to move on from reaves but reaves in for Alex nylander I have no issues. Alex has been bad and even his bad reaves has played he’s better than Alex for the 4th line role. Anyone disagreeing just has a biased hatred towards reaves.

My post was in response to another post.

If you feel a penalty every 4 games has had a great negative impact, you're welcome to feel that. Nylanders penalty every 4 games probably has a greater impact as it takes him off the ice. Reaves playing, most would think, would have a far greater negative impact than a penalty every 4th game.

I'm trying to avoid going in circles with you because it takes the thread off topic. I'm not so insecure that I need to have the last word.

don't want Domi back
Was thinking that earlier, has anyone missed either Domi or Reaves?

It took him until December last year to get his first goal too. He's been nothing special upfront, not that much snot and still has 0 goals. May have been better off with Bert but I can see Domi turning it around he has the abilities
Lets not get crazy now
