When Poile declared he was going to retire I was hoping the organization would go get Eric Tulsky. There were a couple others I mentioned during that time frame as well but Tulsky was the one I was really hoping for.

When they announced Trotz, I was less than thrilled but figured since he was a legend around here I’d be willing to see how things went before passing judgment. When he made the big signings on day one of free agency, my thought was well alrighty then he’s going for it. I was pretty excited about the signings. After watching it not work out and his blind devotion to his coaching choice, I’m losing faith in his abilities as GM.

I look back and still wish they would have gotten Tulsky.

I have a theoretical question for y’all. Let’s see the season I mean like a Hoover in a black hole. They mostly kept this team together, but they added a top three pic

After last night's embarrassing display, Stamkos has 9 penalties so far this season.

As a reminder, he only has 7 goals.

I'd say I'm feeling more optimistic as he only had 15:24 TOI last night but he had two penalties so I doubt his time would actually be cut much without those.

Just realized tonight that Blankenburg is actually older than Fabbro, only a month but still older.

What exactly do they think they have in that munchkin? He's been ragdolled by Tavares, f***ing Tavares, several times tonight.
It doesn't really seem fair to hate on Blankenburg just because he's filling Fabbro's spot on the roster. He skates well and I think he's played well enough to justify being in the league

I will happily take him instead of Carrier. I would take Fabbro above any defenseman we currently have on the right side.

Our right side is currently a beauty pageant but with pigs in dresses. And not like the cute little teacup pigs. I'm talking about hogs in mud and probably their own excrement.

If we were a real team, they both would be bottom pairing/7th defensemen

I'm not hating on him because he replaced Fabbro. That part was just some added satire.

I disagree that Blankenburg is an NHL defensemen. He skates well and is faster but he's tiny and loses every battle. It's one thing to be a smallish young player that still needs some muscle as a forward but he's not adding more muscle at 26 and he's a tiny Dman.

He skates well and has an offensive mindset. That'd be great if he was a #6 PP specialist or even a #7 that played sparingly but he's currently playing in the #4 spot.

I'd also add if I was Brunette at this point I'd throw caution to the wind and see if I couldn't catch lightning in a bottle. I'd throw Svechkov on the top line with Forsberg, move ROR to the 2nd, run Parssinen on the 3rd and Sissons on the 4th. Then you just plug in whoever looks best as the 3rd member on a line and see what happens.

Whats the worst you could see? You lose? You are already doing that so if you are going to do all of this swapping around do some real swapping around. Let Marchessault and Stamkos eat some 3rd and 4th line minutes for a couple of games.

Blankenburg just seems like another Jordan Gross to me. More responsible player (although not as dynamic offensively) and not physically capable enough at the NHL level.

You know who has as many goals as him? Olivier.

Dante Fabbro has 3G in 10 games with CBus
Tomasino has 2G in 4 games in Pitts.

Novak is 7th on our team with 3G.

Stamkos and Marchessault have combined for 3G 3A 6P at 5v5 while playing 13 mins a game at 5v5. But we gotta keep that dynamic duo together.

The first line and top pair have some of the worst goal differentials on the team. But we gotta keep them together.

Feels like the inmates are running the asylum.

As a longtime Preds fan living in St. Louis, it was disheartening to see the Blues hire Montgomery and actually start playing better. It is fine being a miserable Preds fan this season as long as the Blues were sucking too. Now, not so much....

Also, I'm new here, but so frustrated by this team this year I needed a place to whine.

GMBT ego will get the best of him. Same for Bruno. Both seem to think they are the ones making the right decisions and are not at fault for anything that is wrong with the team. Trotz would make the same deals and same trades again if asked, I bet. Same for hiring Bruno. It is all the players fault and responsibility for the collapse. At least that is the way I read both of those two.

Nyquist is so important to you that I think you need to try and convince him to skip the four nations.

I would love to get a 2nd rounder for him at the TDL. I want him to skip the four nations so he doesn't get hurt and we can't trade him.

But I hope instead the Preds just trade him before the tourney. Tomorrow would be great.

Facing Montreal tonight with Monty in goal. He is letting in 2.99 goals against a game. Any chance we get that elusive 3rd goal for tonight? We are on the back end of a back to back and our newly acquired backup has been allowing 3.23 goals against a game (which is actually an improvement on what wedgie was providing us) but Colorado is actually a decent team...

Feel like if we wanted to actually win a game on the back to back, we wouldve started saros tonight instead of yesterday

Didn’t think of that, how badly did Forsberg drag him along to his first 70 point season last year? Kicking and screaming or only kicking?

I thought Nyquist was actually good last year and was doing a good job helping to set up Forsberg, and working with nice chemistry to help make that whole line tick? His points were not just some kind of passenger effect, he was an effective part of it.

This year he has simply not been the same? :dunno:
