Dont really want to get a grudge going in the NHL thoughđź«Ł
I just went through his game log from last season. Other than the playoff game, I actually don't see Cody Beach handing him all those misconducts. It seemed like quite a large cross-section of different AHL refs in actuality. So maybe there isn't that much of a "grudge factor", vs. him just running his mouth too much against everybody. :dunno:

Little bit of a scare this morning as Novak went down hard into the boards on a line rush. Was down on the ice for a few minutes and sat for around five minutes but returned to practice. I have been to every opening day on ice camp since the initial practice at Bridgestone (I believe it was called Gaylord back then). What a difference since then. As I recall there were only around 35 players back then, and less than half of them over 6 feet tall. We really have an impressive group this year. Very impressed with our new faces and with our future pipeline.

I wouldn't get to caught up in who is playing with who yet. Basically they are going to try several things and see what sticks, although I guess the initial " this is what we are thinking" does have something to it.

Sissons with Evangelista and Tomasino isn't the worst thing I've heard of. Gives Sissons someone to put the puck in the net and his defensive game helps them out. Evangelista is the spark plug and if Tomasino can get his stuff together it could be a decent duo.

Although frankly wouldn't mind seeing them try Parsinnen with those two, moving Sissons down kicking McCarron out and seeing how that group looked.

Probably told em that the stripes make them look fat.

Seems to work ok for Brad Marchand and both Tkachuk brothers.
I’m reminded of the line from Bull Durham: “Your shower shoes have fungus on them. You'll never make it to the bigs with fungus on your shower shoes. Think classy, you'll be classy. If you win 20 in the show, you can let the fungus grow back and the press'll think you're colorful.”

What do you guys think of Evangelista? Can he progress even though he probably won't have a top 6 opportunity? Is it plausible that the second line can be : Evangelista - Stamkos - Marchessault and that Novak goes on the third?

Between line blenders and inevitable injuries I think we will see him in the top 6 or at least have some significant time with the talented vets at some point.

I think he would almost certainly be the first guy to slot up when someone in the top 6 has to miss a game

I think it’s very possible. I wouldn’t also count out a scenario where he overtakes Nyquist’s spot on the top line with Forsberg and ROR.

Novak is going to out produce ROR. I bet he pots over 70 pts /82

this is how it needs to be

FF9- ROR- Goose

Stammer- Novechkin-Marchasseault

Tomasino-Sissons- Evangelista

L’Hereux- Jankowski-Parsinnen

putting Novak on the 3rd line would be horrible asset mgmt . He is the best playmaker on the team

I could see maybe marchasseault playing on the 3rd line if Brunette wanted to shake things up

Parsinnen will be playing center on whatever line and you straight switch Nyquist and Vange

They're gonna f*** up this Pärssinen case, aren't they?

Havent really seen any posted lines with Pärssinen in them. Not sure what all theyve tried with him but the tomasino sissons Evangelista line had good chemistry in one of the scrimmages. End of the day i think L'Heureux gets sent down and Jankowski or McCarron get the 13th forward with Pärssinen sliding into the 4th line.

Could be a case where he has tweaked something and they are just kind of being easy with him or who knows, may not have come into camp in as good of shape as they wanted and he is paying the price for that. Honestly I could probably come up with several more reasons.
