We're gonna be tanking for that kid in '26 aren't we?
This is not tanking. This is just being a bad hockey team better yet a bad team management and franchise. A true hockey fan can somewhat get behind a team that is rebuilding and losing because we have a young team and is stacking up talent. What this team is doing is trying to build a contender and is failing miserably

two nights ago I had the worst case of stomach flu/food poisoning ever it was coming out both ends faster than a Shea Weber slap shot. And I still think they are better Trotz then Barry

Why sign Novak to a 3 year deal to trade him in year 1? Did the same with Carrier. Lost Fabbro for nothing.

We’re just blowing thru our organizational depth.

If there are offers of 1st rounders out there for any of our guys and we don’t accept them, I don’t know what to say or think any longer. I will say this, now that I’ve got espn+ it won’t be hard to go find a new team to root for.

I'm guessing that PIT wants to stock up on draft picks and realized that an injured Bunting wasn't worth much to a playoff team, so they found a non-playoff team that would take him and a pick for two players who would have value to playoff teams. I won't be surprised if Dubas now flips both of them and gets back more than Trotz got.

Trotz does seem to swing between, "I want a Jeannot type deal for my guy" to realizing he isn't going to get an entire draft class for his guy and just taking whatever bag of wet spaghetti he gets handed.

So as some of you know I have a very reliable source that sometimes passes me info.

I can say without a shadow of a doubt that there was a deal to an eastern conference team last year that was a 1st round pick for Novak.

And we basically gave him away for a fourth and worse player.

Trotz has to go. He has to. I thought Bruno was the problem but it's Trotz. The incompetence is beyond anything we've seen in this league since Milbury.

Well come on down and get ready for that 7 minutes a night!

I honestly thought Brunette was the issue, I think now its Trotz and this is going to be one long hard stretch until the owners finally get enough and fire him in about a decade.
Bruno is part of the problem. I mean it took him 60 games and losing Nyquist before he could figure out he needed to blend his lines better, play with some structure, etc.

But a large part of Bruno sucking falls on Trotz. Trotz got rid of a guy who might be coach of the year this year and replaced him with someone with less coaching experience. Then put together a team like some fan who'd been in a couple fantasy leagues, let the coach do whatever he wants (flounder and flail), and just mowed through the organizational depth like a combine harvester. I can't remember seeing a team who has about half of its players from camp playing across the league BEFORE the TDL. And here we are.

Wiesblatt is a player they like, though, so he might do a little better in terms of utilization. He has been coming on quite nicely lately with the Ads. But the bottom line is... well, he projects as a bottom line agitator in the NHL.

Refs are going to love us if we're putting Bunting, L'Heureux, and Wiesblatt out there. Hope the PK is up to the challenge!

Weisblatt is like a replacement for Sherwood. I like him on the 4th line next season. Honestly when Surin jumps to the NHL i think itd be funny to occasionally have L'Heureux Surin Weisblatt on the ice just to piss people off

So after a performance in which Novak looked decent with Forsberg and Marchy on his wings, what does the Line-O-Rama 5000 spit out tonight? Does this leave us with #2C Sissons, or should we expect Bruno to split up the ROR-Stamkos-Vange line that had one of the best outings of the year on Tuesday?

I'd like to see the ROR-Stamkos-Vange line remain for at least a couple of games, with Svechkov getting the nod in between Forsberg and Marchy, but with Bruno in charge I think there is a better chance of me being struck by lightning immediately after buying the winning Powerball ticket than seeing Svechkov at #2C.

Ask for 2C sissons and though shalt receive

Smith and Jankowski are just what the dr ordered for svechkov

I've seen many times over the seasons other fans complaining that their team was rolling out "a literal AHL defensive unit"... I never thought I'd see that day here. I mean, I like the potential of some of those guys, but at the moment that's a rough unit. Hopefully the payoff on draft day is worth the suffering.
