Everyone covering this team is a world class moron except for Hartnett

I'd add that it's pretty remarkable that the NHL's most valuable team has absolutely the worst beat writer coverage of any NHL team. I follow a few other teams (Jackets, TB, etc...) and the info there and here are considerably different.

I think the Florida Panthers with a part timer get better overage than the schmucks that cover the Rangers. I can't believe how little we find out from them and how arrogant and obnoxious they are for basically doing jack shit.

They are the most arrogant douchebags I have ever seen on twitter.

Ironing out nervousness and relieving some of that pressure is important.

The team so far has not been good enough. The coaching has been reactive and nonsensically irrational and fearful. The players are tense.

This wasn't a great game from the team but the win might help everyone relax a little and bring out a totally different feeling team.

Or they can resort to their old ways and come out flat again next game.

Henrik won us this game...so many slot chances yesterday.
Worst defensive play since the days of Purinton chasing everyone around. Easiest path to the slot in the entire NHL. No commitment effort from forwards to backcheck. The defensive play has gotten worse and worse each year since AV took over for Trots. There is simply no way to be a competitive team and play this way.

If Hayes line is to be our checking line then I'd rather see Grabner there instead of Vesey. Grabs showed a good chemistry with both Hayes and Fast and is probably a better player for this role while showing zero chemistry with Buch. The team is short a center but in meantime I'd be fine with rotating centers taking shifts between Vesey and Buchnevich.

P.S. genuinely surprised how well Staal played recently but I expect him to get back to him "norm" around Christmas.

Did you watch the game? Hayes-Vesey-Fast was the most productive line. Vesey has upped the ante the last two games. So has Hayes. It is not a checking line.

Did you see their defensive assignments? Do you expect this offensive surge to continue? Do you want at least some resemblance of a chemistry between Buch and whoever he plays with?

Buch has pretty great chemistry with Kreider and Zibs. Still have no idea why this line was broken up.

McD has looked terrible the last few games, chasing the play and making poor puck decisions. Coupled with a weak C group, we end up with very poor 5on5 play.

I have been all over Hayes, and he started the game in the same way, but he got much more aggressive and even drove the net (leading to his goal). If he can break through and stop being Staypuff Jr (Nash being Staypuff Sr), it would make a huge difference.

The forwards' backchecking is still a work in progress. The lines for the last two games have primarily worked, so stay with them. Either AV hates Buch or doesn't trust him for whatever reason or is weaning him in with sheltered minutes, so he's pinned to the fourth line for the time being. At least he gets time on PP1.
