Even Hank's BFF Valiquette is saying this was a good defensive game, Nashville was constantly taking low percentage shots, and Nashville all of this year and last year spams low danger shots on the powerplay.

"Wasn't called on to be the best player." And that's out of the mouth of a guy who will go out of his way to say Hank carried the team.

Their PP xG was even less impressive.

Hank had a good game, but it definitely wasn't a "glare at your teammates" game.

He kept us in it the last 10 minutes but he could have napped the first 50 minutes.

If you watched the game, you'd see he didn't do this once.

Wait, is there an stat on corsica that measures this? If so, what was the amount of glare? GR% 30?

Anywho, the DD51 lovefest needs to stop. Mika and Hayes lines have been good, so let them keep going. Put Miller between Kreider and Buch and go to war with that top-9.

Well, cause I'm dumb and don't pay attention to when our games are, I only saw the final 10 minutes.
Obviously not happy with the turtle, but it seemed like Hank was doing a better job of deflecting pucks away from him, and players getting to those pucks. Still weren't getting them out of the zone, but at least there weren't juicy rebounds lying around in the paint.

If nothing else, this might at least get them some confidence back.

After giving up 3 goals on like 14 shots the Preds' goalie was drowning out his Saros in the locker room.
I would too if that's all he faced, that's embarrassing. I'm more in the camp that we need to get more on first. There are players that can do it, overpassing has to stop. And lifeless dump/chase.

I really think if that happened and they kept the engines going they look much better and they aren't getting intercepted/stuck as much.

Definitely good to see Hayes coming around. He's got way more to show than what he's been since last year's playoffs. We saw during his rookie year where he was the best player in the 2nd half on a team that made a mad dash for the PT.

Goalmouth protection was definitely more stout in this game. Minimized the second chances. Guys blocking shots also.

I was mostly just trying to be puny.

Agreed if we don’t have another center to field a 12 man forward group then J.T. Miller has to play center. Bottom line. DD is ok but he’s not a top 6 centerman at this point and Buchnevich must be playing top 9 mins

Nash Mika Zucc
Kreider Miller Buchnevich
Vesey Hayes Fast
Grabner DD Lettieri

Nice win against a defensively sound team.

Getting very frustrating watching McDonagh trying to force shots through from the point. He almost always waits too long because his O awareness is 'eh' and he waits to receive the puck before deciding on what to do. Then when the defender has already cut the angle and is too close he tries to use his skating and finesse to quickly pull the puck in and change the angle on the defender. But unless your initials are J K no angle change or finessing can get the puck through at that point. Better to either shoot right away or hang on to the puck a second before dumping it off. The Rangers are pretty lucky not have seen more blocks and breakaways on those repeated mindless shot attempts. Staal offensively sucks but at least he knows he does and mostly doesn't bother to force the puck through defenders. If it's clear he'll shoot his inaccurate weak shot, otherwise he just dumps it deep to keep possession and live to fight another day. Sometimes simpler is better.

At least we are last after 9 games 3 pts. behind the wildcard spot - Sharks will win easy if we play like the last 40 min. on monday and the pressure is on AV again.

Not thrilled we won. I gotta be honest that I think this is a bad team, and I think every win will end up hurting this team come the draft lottery. It also buys AV another game he shouldn't get.

The Hayes line was good, all the defensemen except for Holden and Smith played well. Hank was good.

We only generated 15 shots, I think we gotta change things up.

I understand what you're saying and in perfect world we would try to get that 1-2 pick but lets be honest AV, Lindy or probably any other coach this team is at worst gonna get probably as high as a 10-15th pick which would suck cause we probably just miss playoffs. I just can't see us being bad enough with AV or another coach to get that top 1-3 pick.

This is the most out of touch take i've ever read. It's clear you don't even understand what the bronx cheer/jeer is if you think that is what it was.

It was a sigh of relief that they don't have to sweat it out, and they are going to get their second win of the season.

It seems every fan on twitter, and in the GDT understood this except you.

Glad Kreider got one, but this new line with Desharnais is literally the worst thing ever in history.

That means AV thinks it's great and will keep trying it.

I could be wrong, there's no stats on facial expressions, but that's how I interpreted it. And it's not like he's never been a dick to his teammates before.
