benn's ****ing great back there.

No, he's not. Didn't you read the thread when he was acquired?

The hockey experts and geniuses here all said he was lousy and that they couldn't understand why the Canadiens had to add a pick to Pateryn because Pateryn was clearly better.

The Habs penalty kill under Julien has been fantastic. Therrien basically lost his job cause of that.

I've always said that the best player on the PK is the goalie. You can't have a good PK when your goalie wets the bed at every turn. Look at Price's PK save % before/after Therrien.

They scored on a system that was favorable to their offensive play early on: rely on counter-attacking when other team makes mistakes. Stretch the D with two-line passes. It worked a ton in October and November. But teams got into their season grooves, and it doesn't work anymore. So these players, who had been scoring at torrid paces early on, aren't scoring anymore because the ice has shrunk. Guys with talent score when the space gets limited. Guys with not enough talent don't. They work hard, but nothing comes of it.

That's why you have 27-67 and 47 scoring. They have talent. The others don't have enough to do it.

No question Byron, Danault, and Lehks were overachieving earlier. But that doesn't mean their regular level is absolute zero.
