Let’s face it this team is going nowhere with this mish mash of an aging core. Would serve them well to at least trade Josi and Marchessault because there’s no chance this team can retool before those guys are on hole 17. Stamkos as well but his contract gives him negative value. They may be able to be good before Forsberg is past is prime but he could also give them a lot of futures in a trade. ROR would also be a great pickup for a team like Winnipeg or Vancouver potentially and his contract doesn’t have any trace protection for some reason. They already have 3 first round picks this year so they probably would prefer first rounders from 2026 given that draft is supposed to be better.

Ekholm talked his old pal Josi into forcing a trade to Edmonton so they can both win Cups before their careers are done.

Oh sorry, fell asleep there for a moment. OTOH, I am mildly curious what it would cost...

Rangers considering rangers have a top 13 protected 2025 1st rounder in the jt miller deal.

To Nashville

- 2026 1st rounder unless they have a top 13 pick this year which would then go to Nashville since the 2026 would go to vancouver (technically now Pitt)
- Reilly Smith (money purposes)
- Adam Sykora

To NYR

- Ryan O’Reilly
- Tommy Novak

Well probably about the same amount as Miller given they’re similar level players with similar contracts who are around the same age :sarcasm:
Why is Pettersson's numbers down this year? He's one of the few options for Forsberg.

I read probably.

ROR to Detroit.

What's the price?
Unconditional 1st + a good prospect
Or
One of your best players 25 and under?

Until nashville gets rid of the same ol mushy middle mentality people in the front office which is basically everyone, nashville will not do a fire sale. In any case no way would I want trotz to negotiate any trades because he has already shown he's not good at that and will be bent over in any deal he would make

Just curious what Luke Evangelista's value is? Keeper long term or potential trade bait in the right deal?
he SHOULD be a keeper but our coach prefers grinders like McCarron over him so I suspect he'll he next year's 1st waiver casualty.

Well 30th isn't quite mushy middle.

Edmonton doesn't have anything tradeable that gets them Josi.

Only thing of interest to the Preds here is the 1st and I don't see a next year first being worth trading both ROR and Novak.

If ROR does get traded, which we should absolutely explore, he'll be the best center available at the deadline. High level of play, great contract, term after this year. A late first won't do it. I'd be looking for a proven young NHL player with the potential to be a real top 6/top 4 type player.

The interesting piece to me is if Josi, Forsberg, Stamkos, or Saros ask for a trade. I think it would be best for us long term to trade Josi. If we do, we need a fantastic young Dman, very think pipeline there.

Most of us don't want him here. He's constantly out of position to make a useless hit, which, to be fair to him, is why our coach loves him so much.
He's the kind of guy a contender will overpay for because he's "built for the playoffs" but he is not an NHL level player. Also included in this bucket: Schenn. Sissons is similar but a little better
