What the actual eff? Why is this a race thing? Thanks Canadian guy for coming here and making sure we Yanks mind our ps and qs..... There are many people in this country that are very happy to reference their heritage, I am a proud Irish-American, and there is nothing wrong with that. Tell me again when French people in Canada stop being called French-Canadian?

As much as I like Weber I think this trade will be good for the fanbase in Nashville. The over the top positive attitude is as infectious as it is fun.

His family heritage isn't from Africa, it is from the Caribbean. I was simply clarifying, there is no 'race thing' here. How many proud Irish-Americans would love to be called Australian-American?

Thanks listened to 104.5 chat.

Hmm hush puppies and sweet tea I got a few things to learn...
I grew up in the south and I don't get the appeal of sweet tea to be honest. Don't get me wrong, it's better than unsweetened tea, but it's just not my drink of choice unless it's being offered to me.

Hushpuppies kick ass though.

I only drink water at home and when I go out, sweet tea. I avoid anything carbonated.

Thanks for the link.

Yeah I guess you guys know that station but I've been listening on and off all afternoon it's refreshingly casual and tolerant with some unexpected stuff like references to the specific books of the bible and callers talking about pigass soup and so on.

I think they're replaying the Subban interview now

Subban is not African American. No, he is not even African Canadian. You can just call him a black Canadian (Even better yet, just a Canadian). From the Caribbean if you want to be specific.

Nobody says black Canadian or African Canadian ;) anyway never heard that once.

Like you said it's just Canadian. Color of the skin doesn't matter at all.

Nice interview, but no mention of hot chicken???? I grew up on sweet tea and ate my share of hush puppies, but if you're talking food and Nashville you have to mention hot chicken.

Maybe he didn't want to be uncomfortable on interview day. ;)

It's funny you say that. I grew up in Robertson County and went to college at TTU and I had never heard of hot chicken until after I graduated college. Of course now it has taken everything by storm, but several years ago....if I would have heard hot chicken, I would have thought of chicken wings (aka Buffalo Wild Wings style).

Me neither and I've been in Nashville a LONG time. Mr. Adz had heard of and tried hot fish around 1981 or so, but neither of us was familiar with hot chicken til one opened up in Donelson 10 - 15 years ago. It opened and closed before I ever tried it but I did notice it.

Just curious what Nasvhille fans think about this question. Is P.K. Subban now your number 1 defenseman, or is Josi now the number 1, with P.K. as the number 2? It doesn't really matter in the end, especially if they are playing together, just wondering who you guys feel is better, and who will end up having the better offensive success? Stats wise they are pretty darn close. Subban has 60 in 2014-15, while Josi had 55. Then is 2015-16, Josi had 61, while P.K. had 51 (he missed 14 games due to injury). I haven't watched Josi play an incredible amount the last few seasons, though I do take him in my hockey pool every year and he's done nothing but improve. I also remember watching him play at the World Juniors and I always thought he was amazing, not just offensively, but in his own zone as well, and he always seems to step up internationally whether it was World Juniors, World Championships or the Olympics. As a Habs fan, P.K. was tough to watch play in his own end at times, coupled with numerous bad turnovers last season, and taking dumb unwarranted penalties at bad times, he was a very frustrating player to have your team counting on at times. So all facets of their respective games considered, what do people who see Roman Josi play all the time think about the debate of who is the better d-man?

Ditto my family history in middle TN goes back to when it was a wilderness claimed by North Carolina, until about a year ago I had never heard of it and still have not tried it.

Poile raiding talent while counterparts are putting emphasis on "intangibles": http://www.ontheforecheck.com/2016/...capitilizing-on-misperceived-character-issues

Interesting article. A huge shift from the Trotz era here, with our plucky little underdogs and "good guys in the locker room" to this.

I like it. I am starting to appreciate Poile a little more, now. I think he is going to make one more bold move....by this time next year or even sooner I think Pekka is gone.
