I think the question that everyone should be asking and aren't... why is Myers out there late in a 1 goal game when Vancouver has last change at home?

No engagement? Did you watch the video? Bouchard is skating towards Myers with his arms up, like he is about to hit Myers. Bouchard was clearly trying to fake Myers into taking a penalty. It worked!!

I think that's a bit of a stretch. Guys skate towards other guys all the time in scrums. Maybe he was asking for his favourite banana loaf recipe?

Why was Bouchard skating towards Myers? It wasn't to give him a peck on the cheek. If you are going to engage somebody, you better engage. Bouchard was clearly trying to draw a penalty.

Solid logic. If a player is skating towards you, you can crosscheck them in the face. I think that's somewhere in the back of the rulebook.

Myers deserves a suspension, McDavid a bigger one taken account last game he concussed a player also.

The real detriment would be the league making him play 25+ minutes for the next couple games.

just watched the feed on what happened leading up to this. someone better at video than me should grab it. neither myers nor bouchard saw what happened to garland at the same time. they had their own thing going on.
what happened is the puck went to the boards off a draisaitl shot and bouchard got to it and myers closed on him. bouchard passed it just before myers got there and myers finished his check. bouchard had his stick up as myers came in. when myers came off the check he spun and gave bouchard a two hander that looked to be a retaliation for something that happened during the check. then bouchard closed on him and myers gave it to him in the chops.
i agree it is a suspension for myers, but i am pretty sure it was retaliating for bouchard doing something to myers wth his stick on the boards.

Based on the very few posts in this thread ESPECIALLY compared to the Mcdavid attack on Garland thread,... makes me think this clearly is not on the same level at all. Really just a small fine or nothing for Myers seems fair, objective and neutral

Bouchard was given a 2 minute penalty for slashing. Not exactly sure when it occurred.
