I hate that this series is being overshadowed by those damn idiots on twitter.Obviously they don't represent us, the city or the team. But the media trying to connect the two really bother me.

Hopefully it won't overshadow the rest of the series. Kinda hoping the crowd gives Subban a good reception in light of everything. Just to show those morons what's up.

I hate it too.

I don't do Twitter but if they know who made those remarks they should ban them from everything.

The implication that francophone referees cheat to favor the Habs is extremely insulting both to francophones and to referees. Quick, waive Bergeron before his innate french weakness causes him to sabotage the Bruins!

To infer this from a game where the Habs had ONE extra pp over more than four periods of hockey... speaks for itself.

May I speak for myself as I am one of those Frenchies? :amazed:

What is big time insulting for myself is that the NHL is appointing 2 refs that grew up so close to "Centre Bell" as this would be **** so easily avoidable ***. The jerks who are taking this decision are exposing the Frenchies to raising some doubts regarding the profesinalism of their behaviour.

The son of one of my coworker is a baseball ref. This year, his son asked Baseball Canada to ref in Greater Toronto Area. His son does not want to have someone to even have the opportunity to raise a doubt about his professionalism. Period! Why this young ref and Baseball Canada are so much smarter than those involved in those kinda decisions in the NHL?

I am not asking the NHL to have those refs working in the Western Canada or USA for the duration of their career. Only to avoid those kinda things in the playoffs games. Why is it asking for too much? :shakehead

maybe the league should just appoint Euro refs for the entire playoffs, that way there would be no bias, it would be crud refereeing across the board:laugh:

Well, I noted that above too. But I don't understand why you write 'hypocrisy of the Montreal fan base' when B's fans are quick to jump on this silliness too, of alleging referee-bias despite facing the same ridiculousness on Campbell.

It's clearly an individual issue, and not a fan base issue.

Another interesting phenomenon: fan bases thinking that they are somehow unique and different than another. Montreal fans are no more likely than Boston fans when it comes to hypocrisy.

What is hypocrisy. Is what they did to MacLean. After the debate we had over the Charter of Value I would think twice before claiming I am a victim of racism.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quebec_Charter_of_Values

I live in Quebec city where probably more than 99% of folks are speaking French language. One of my friends who grew up in Africa and studied in the same University than me, moved to Montreal. She studied in a similar field than me. She is having harder time finding a job in Montreal than in Quebec city. Else than being a couple of years younger than me, her gender, the color of her skin and a lower fluency in English Language, I'd say she have the same kind of assets than me and should have similar results than me in Jobs Interviews. This is what I call Real Life's Racism. When the way folks in Jobs Interviews see you is having an impact on the money you can bring home in order to be able to pay for home, food... it gives you a different point of view regarding racism. Without hypocrisy, I don't know how I could think the columnits and other smart boys in the media were right to pretend Maclean is a racist. :shakehead

I don't think anyone is implying that francophone refs would favor one team. Quebecois, on the other hand....:sarcasm:

What would be even more funnier is having a Crazy Canucks referee going to the Court of Law asking to be appointed to ref a game involving Canada at Olympic Games claiming is beign ripped off of working opportunities. And even better if it would be a Frenchie claiming he is a victim of racism. This guy would be a Role Model for us Frenchies.

Warning you should see a bit of sarcasm in this post. :sarcasm:

An inside joke in my city between the folks not blinded fans of the Habs, is this:

"When the refs are calling a penalty look at the clock and if it is in the last 5 minutes you can bet on which side it will always be." :sarcasm:
