Marchand is killing me. He's not doing anything useful, takes stupid penalties, makes bad passes, doesn't stay on his feet, and he even made the Montreal game saving stop tonight. If he doesn't turn it around, he needs to be shipped out of town.

A few weeks back I was totally fine with something like

Marchand + Seidenberg for Brent Burns+

I'm still fine with it

If we would have won we would have swept them. It think Montreal plays a better game Saturday and we Rask on his game. Got to bury those chances and the noon start sucks as you never know who will still be asleep in those afternoon games. Like many of you I just knew the game was over when that PP was called. The refs in the league are useless. How they call that and not others is what bothers me. If that's a penalty fine. But that's the first time it happened? 5 on 5 we own them but with the refs in this league you cannot count on that. Also, Marchand needs to bury some chances.

Let's win game 2 and PK, you can go to hell. Your a punk. Punk.

Annoying game to watch. Price was good but the best chances that we had didn't even end up with shots on goal. Add in the shot that Marchand stopped, I need a drink.

I thought taking Florek off the soderberg/ loui line was a great move. Those guys are ready to go off. Marchand, Iginla and Krejci were hard to watch tonight...

The too many men led to an equally good scoring chance for Montreal as that hold robbed them of. Especially since he probably wouldn't even have got the chance even if he wasn't held (if he was), because Bart would have been a presence and played the body or the puck anyway. Refs were a minimal factor in the game, but with three PP's and two PP goals for the team that had something like half as much possession, it's pretty significant anyway.

Having said that, Bruins will win 4 straight now, even though Habs will play slightly better than they did tonight. :handclap:

You'll never ever ever see me ask for more too many men calls in the playoffs. Ever....ever.

Ever.

Tough way to lose but some good things.
A ton of missed chances and we still managed to take it to 2OT.
Big comeback in the 3rd, that was huge. Mentally this team is in the right place.

Price played much, much better than I expected.
Agree with the calls or not, taking 2 penalties in OT absolutely killed our chances in this game.

There's no way the tabs can win 4 games like that. Bruins should have won about 10-3 tonight. Marchand needs to wake the **** up, guy has been a major disappointment.

PK needs to be better as well, obviously. The series might very well depend on it.

If veteran playoff players like Krejci, Lucic, and Marchand can finish in the least bit, they score early and this game is done. Even if for whatever reason they don't and it goes to OT, they find a way to bury one. If Krejci stops doing his stupid loop-d-loop plays looking for the perfect shot, he probably gets one or at least gets a shot on net that produces a nice rebound for someone to hit in. That is far ahead the reason this game is lost.

I didn't say anything about a call in overtime until they decided to make calls. I see missed penalties, but my brain doesn't think "call it."

But once a ref makes the decision that the whistles are in play, that's when I have a problem.

Fair enough.
Historical trauma aside, it has the potential to affect the outcome just as much as what they seemingly arbitrarily decide is okay to call in the OT in the playoffs (whilst ignoring blatant things that would've been categorised otherwise), though.

Plusses were Bergeron, Smith, Boychuk, and Krejci's puck-handling skills. Minuses were Rask, the young D-men, and Krejci's brain.

I wish one of these times he would just rip a backhander on the net inside of dropping it back to the D.

We needed some unpredictability to beat Price tonight.
