OT: My cautionary tale.

  • Xenforo Cloud has upgraded us to version 2.3.6. Please report any issues you experience.
Saturday morning I started feeling sick, and by Sunday I stated feeling very sick...thought it might have been a stomach bug. Monday morning they had to use an ambulance to get me to the hospital. My appendix bursted and spewed all sorts of unspeakables all over my abdomen.

If you're feeling unwell, don't assume. Doctor said it was bad enough where if I waited any longer I could have died from sepsis.
Nice to hear that you were lucky enough! Wish you a good recover!

Listen to your body, folks. If you don't feel right, go to the doctor (or nurse practitioner) and get checked out.

18 years ago this month I lost an incredibly close friend of mine to this exact scenario. He thought the same, thought it was a stomach bug. Here we were barely into our mid 20s, and then I got the call that he was gone.

Thank God you got to the hospital, hope you have a quick recovery. I still think of him every day.

Glad you're through the worst, some scary stuff there, man.

Some good advice here, too. If in doubt, get yourself seen to! If it ain't serious, no harm, no foul, and all the better.

Glad it ended well. My quick story, just to drive home the point of getting checked out:
I was dealing with some #2 issues for a while. Irregular to say the least, but way off from my norm. Goes on and on, I chalk it up to shift work and eating this or that. I had started taking pre-work out just before I became symptomatic. Basically, every excuse I could make, I made. Doctor says I'm too young for these issues (35 at the time) and to eat less bananas and bread. Fast forward 18 months and I'm in emergency surgery for colon cancer. Do what I have to do, a few surgeries, treatment, and I'm good now. Think Eddie Olczyk, I was actually 12 weeks ahead of him with the same deals. Kind of interesting to watch that all play out for him.

But yeah, get it checked out. Colonoscopies aren't "fun", but way better than the alternative. You get a good nap at least. And if you don't agree with your doctor, get a second opinion.
