If you are unfamiliar with this. Spirit was a band who toured with Zeppelin and from from the sound of it, Zep stole (some) of the music to Stairway to Heaven from them

Yup.

Pretty obvious they stole the riff and centralized the riff into Stairway to Heaven. The notes are even exactly the same notes (although they may be in a different key and transposed).

As my guitar instructor is fond of saying "I love Led Zeppelin and it really pains me to say this, but they've stolen music from other bands for a number of their songs."

He also mentioned Black Dog, but I'm not sure what he meant or which band/persons they may have stolen riffs from in order to write that song.

I had never heard about Black Dog, but they stole a ton of blues songs. Albums 1 and 2 are especially plagiarized
