Hey, so do I. I like extreme metal in general anyways, though.

Speaking of which, here are two bands I've discovered that I'm obsessed with right now:

From the Netherlands

Great new local grindcore band

Nice. I gotta check those bands out. I went to see Amon Amarth and enslaved last nite at the WIltern theater. Yeah I love extreme metal. I also listen to Norwegian Black metal but more into death and thrash

extreme metal:yo: Any tipe of metal will do except core ****. Rock and pop before Lady Gugu and Justin Barber. Classical music, folk music, film score, jazz, blues, new age etc.

So shall I begin?

Technical/Brutal Death Metal american band with female singer

one of my favourite songs by swedish black metal masters Dark Funeral

finnish industrial metal band Ruoska

german death metal band Hackneyed

folk metal from Spain

Northland from Spain. One of my favorite folk metal bands.

Canadian madmen Nordheim:yo:

german awesome female fronted symphonic metal band Arven (only guy in band is drumer)

austrian symphonic power metal band

swedish gothic/industrial metal act Deathstars.

I saw Propgandhi at both LA shows this weekend. Man, that singer is a great guitar player. For a punk/thrash band, they have great dynamics and sound excellent live. Their guitars/amps have some of the best tone I've heard. I wish I could get my guitars to sound that good.

Propaghandi is one of my all time favorite bands envy your getting to see them. You can get your guitars to sound like theirs. Drop D tuning and the neck pick ups are set ahead a few turns so that sound gets a bit bigger and a bit fuzzier too. Propaghandi spawned the Weakerthans and they are another great band (though different in style of course).

In L.A. there are two spots that I can refer you to that do great pro caliber set ups and that will make all the difference in the world. pm me if you are interested at all and I will put you on them.

Have always wanted to see them :(

I have a guy I really like but I'm open to see what else is out there. The shop I use is 13th Street Guitars in HB. The guy there started doing stuff out of his garage and he has gotten so big that he moved to an industrial park and now a store front. He does a really good job. But I'll send you a PM for your suggestions!

And I love the Weakerthans too. That guy inspired me to start finger picking my acoustic.

Have always wanted to see them :(

Well, you're in luck because they are playing the Observatory in Santa Ana 5/25!

Sweet, thanks! I like that place, too. They're getting a lot of play lately.

I'm not sure I've ever been there before unless it used to be called something else. Either way, I got tickets to that one too so I'll be checking it out.

They didn't play around here for about 5 or 6 years. Then when they put this record they have literally been touring all over the world and North America but never seemed to make it to the west coast. Now it looks like they'll be here two times in 3 months. I'll take it! I just hope they play a different set list this time. I want Without Love and Purina Hall of Fame!

BTW.. this girl kills it on the acoustic:

Yep, pretty unfortunate, only discovered GWAR a little while back but thought they were great.

It would be fitting if they put his body in a meat grinder for his funeral service.

On a side note, I went to see Me First and the Gimme Gimmes the other day and now I have this song stuck in my head constantly:

Can you sing the lyrics word for word?

Thought I had heard everything the Gimme Gimmes had put out. Never heard this... Didn't even know they were still active honestly.

Song reminds me of this though, so I love it!

I have been listening to allot of leftover crack and choking victim lately. Both pretty good at what they do.

After the talk about the Weakerthans and Propaghandi I had to put them back into rotation too.

There is so much great music out there today that you could spend a month listening to new bands everyday and still not have enough time to fit them all in.

Last night I listened to Rocky Erickson and the 13th floor elevators which always puts a smile on my face. Rocky was ahead of his time and entirely insane but wrote some interesting music.
I never held the bloddy hammer, great line.

Da ****?
This is either some sort of insane geniuses at work, or the most god awful thing ever...
No song structure, no nothing, just all over the place for 7 minutes.
I'm very... conflicted. I think...

They certainly like to 'jam'. Technically their songs are incredible, especially guitars and drums. Very talented musicians. I'm not a fan of screaming, but these guys are incredible.
