I've been listening to the Bob Dylan 30th Anniversary Concert Celebration from 1992 again lately and it's still one of favorite things to listen to.

There's a lot of great performances but these 2 are a couple of my favorites. Clapton's couple of tunes were great as well.

Love this version of Foot of Pride from Lou Reed and might be my favorite from this show. Great groove.

Unfortunately this is an edited version of Watchtower from Neil Young from the show but he was killing it.

Just gave my ‘83 Strat a makeover for those of you who care for such matters. No offence to anyone, but I just couldn’t stand it reminding me of Eric Clapton. :D

Love it!

I don't have the guitar anymore as I sold it but I also gave my first strat a major face lift. I painted the the body a flat black and put a gun metal grey pick guard on it with black pick up covers and knobs.

Here are all my girls reunited. Left to right.

Fender Strat-Mex, my blackie, Just turned 22 Years of ownership. Good girl, usually.

Gibson Les Paul Standard. Born in China a few months ago, still a baby. Hasn't found her voice yet, but can make you smile.

My Japanese beauty, 2 year old Yamaha APX-600. So quiet you hardly notice her. But she can hold her own. My everyday strummer.

Martin D-18, my old lady since 1972, worth more than the other three multiple times. In retirement, needs a serious operation which could cost thousands. Still sounds like Angels choir, just don't go past the fifth fret

For the past 5 years or so the Tedeschi Trucks Band has been one of my favorite bands to listen to. They recently did a cover of the Harry Styles song Sign of the Times which I thought they did pretty damn good job with. Susan is such a soulful singer. Great band.

My son is a rabid Deep Purple fan and he tends to play it closer to the original, only tweaking his sound so it plays heavier but otherwise stays true to an original performance. He’s done Highway Star as close to how Ritchie Blackmore plays it that I’ve heard — he doesn’t care to publish it but if there was an easy way for me to post it here as an audio file (without resorting to the usual social media sites), I could at least present his solo and let you be the judge.

I’m sure he’d enjoy the feedback, positive or not. I’d just download his solo to give an idea.
I recently posted the above, where I was looking to post my son's cover of Highway Star.

My son's version is limited to the more difficult and non recurring parts of the song, so as not to have to listen to a lenghty clip. A buddy of his is playing Jon Lord, followed by the guitar solo. My son's playing guitar and bass on this but with a heavier tone than the original: https://www.mboxdrive.com/Highway Star MASTER (1).m4a

And here's Deep Purple's classic original:

Hoping you like it. Thanks to anyone taking the time.

Is he playing both guitar tracks? It's great. Are you the drummer?

You must've dug deep for that one.

He’s playing all guitars. The drums were programmed bar by bar.

Used to play Purple back in the day but have not resumed drumming, so I'm too rusty to contribute, lol.

Thanks for giving it a listen. :)

From one listen, technically it sounds good, just find the sound thin a bit, missing the menacing organ sound and the punch of the drums.

I've long debated about it. My disability made my playing fall about 10 levels. Stuff I used to play flawlessly, now sounds like a drunk beginner. It's also a 1,000$ or more for a neck reset and refretting. That's the main reason I bought the Yamaha.
