I think that Gallagher at 3.25M a year is good for Vancouver: that's a solid cap hit for a 3rd Line dude that Play that hard with solid leadership. A 4th is basically nothing.

If you’re year 3 in your rebuild while having 3-4 key pieces (top 6 F and top 4 D) when you started and still finish dead last then yeah, there are better positions to be in than that.

It’s not because Ottawa was garbage for nearly a decade that every team should follow their path.

That's an expensive price to pay for a 4th. rounder from a team that already has nine picks in the first four rounds of the '25 draft and doesn't need the cap space . Question is , why ?
