A trade his bound to happen. We have too much 2nd/3rd line center with Dvorak, Poehling, Evans, Pitlick, and won't Montreal be over the cap when all the COVID/injury player will be back?

Most of those guys aren't 3rd liners on a good team, let alone 2nd line. With a team that has suffered losing as many players to various reasons as Montreal, this seems like a no-brainer pick up. He's still relatively young, and has been solid.

Pitlick is not a center in this league. He’s a passable winger for a stretch who has a little ability on the offensive side of the ice. Doesn’t mean a whole lot when that ability isn’t anything to write home about and can’t play well enough in the neutral zone or defensive zone. Just means he’s a holding a spot that you will be looking to replace.

Boldy took his spot

Would say that it’s more Dewar took his spot.

When everyone is back

Drouin - Dvorak - Anderson
Toffoli - Suzuki - Gallagher
Hoffman - Evans - Lekhonen
Armia - Pitlick - Byron
Pezzetta, Perreault

Poehling, Caufield, Paquette,RHP, Dauphin, Belzile(I think he has to go throught waivers) sent down.

I mean, someone has to be moved no? Plus weren't they over the cap already?

Has some solid offense to him, but doesn’t play a complete game as of yet, too many fly bys in the corners and neutral zone. He could be a decent player if he rounds those aspects out, but would probably have been better served with some more AHL development time. Not a big loss for the Wild or Nashville but he is a player that might have a future in the league.

Doesn't play center, not a very good player, there's a reason he's been waived twice this season.

I liked Pitlicker in the games he played against the Sharks, he looked really good. He can skate, can hit, and has offensive creativity. Dont know about considtency though.

Sort of, our entire team is injured and we need bodies. Also have no idea when price is coming back.

Currently on IR aside from Weber we have:
Price 10.5
Anderson 5.5
Gallagher 6.5
Byron 3.4
Edmunson 3.5
Toffoli 4.25
Petry 6.25

And prbly some others I'm forgetting. Essentially we have literally half our cap on IR after excluding Weber since he is effectively retired.

Edit: it's also likely players will starting getting shopped soon with the deadline less than 1.5 months away

Habs drafted his younger brother as well, although he doesn't look like a legit prospect. At worst, a warm body who can give our AHL guys some more time to develop, at best maybe either brother gets an extra kick in the pants now that they are in the same organization

Yes but don't IR player still count against the cap? I tought it was only LTIR player that didn't counted against the cap.

That's what I'm saying.
