Are you so bitter that NYR fans didn't want to include all their top prospects (and Laf) for 100'ish games of JT Miller, that you just like to come into every NYR thread to shit talk their players involved in other trades?
I don't go to every NYR thread, and Lafreniere for a top 3 pick is just too bad for Montreal, to be honest.

I don't have antagonism towards the Rangers, but the deal is really bad.

There's a difference between saying the deal is bad and quoting somebody with "That says it all" when the post mentions Laf becoming the next Yak.

Yak didn't have a brain. That's why he's not playing in the NHL on even a 3rd line.

All right, Laf is better than Yak, at least. I saw him notch an assist to Kreider. Heavy, strong pass.

MTL would love to have Lafrenière .

Lafrenière is not living up the expectation so far with the Rangers.
Does the Rangers would be willing to sacrifice him for a Top pick.

MTL : First pick 2022 (top 3)
for
Rangers : Lafrenière

If its the 1OV maybe a prospect from the Rangers or a pick

MTL says NO!

montreal doesn't need a star french player who plays the wing. this is a myth propagated by the media. montreal needs another top 2 C and a quality PMD.
I have no idea what they need, but I am sure they would love to get Lafreniere.

Of Course, but not at the cost of players who have proved to produce more than Laf (ie Caufield) or top 3 picks (2022-2023-2024). Fot CGYs 1st and a prospect? Sure. But we aren't trading a top 3 pick for a guy who's been wors than Yakupov was as of now.

This fan would not love to have Laf. Not interested in spending the capital to acquire.

See above. I would like to see a poll, perhaps on the Habs board if not already done, to gauge how many Habs fans actually would want him.
Do a poll on here. Top 3 for laf 90% of habs fans say no

I would gamble a mid to late 2nd pick for him, on the off chance he is able to turn it around and actually become a top-6 calibre player, which I honestly doubt is going to happen at this point.

I think he’s likely going to be an average 3rd/4th liner at best, so giving a 2nd for that would suck.

Worst case he busts and ends up out of the league in a few years a la Yakupov, which there is probably a good chance of happening as well.

So in conclusion, giving up a 2nd for Laf is probably not a sound decision, but I’d begrudgingly take the gamble anyway.

Statistically, no, Laf is not better than Yakupov. He is, in fact, worse. The concerns about Lafreniere ending up like Yakupov are very valid at this point in time.

Still worse through his first two seasons than any #1 overall forward since 1986. Him being 20 doesn’t change this fact. If I were a NYR fan, I wouldn’t be calling that “cool”.
Cool. Glad to hold onto him. Id rather him "bust" and be a 3rd liner than trade him for a 2nd. Maybe worry about the shit show the Habs currently are instead of Laf.

You seem mad. Honestly, holding onto Laf is probably the best thing to do at this point because he just isn’t worth much.

As for your shot at the Habs, I’m feeling more hopeful and optimistic about the team currently than at any point in the last 10 years, despite the standings.

Glad you feel good about it. Would you have traded Caufield for a 2nd this year when he was terrible? Just curious.

Also Laf the "bust" now has more goals then Caufield. Hmmm

12 point in the last 20 games. 5 game point streak. All while averaging ~14 minutes of ice time a game.
Watch some Ranger games before you run your mouth - I'm not addressing anyone specifically here.
and yeah, if you were yapping back in January December, sure he was struggling but usually every rookie gets the sophmore slump pass. You don't have to have a lights out rookie year to have a sophmore slump.

We'll keep him. I'd trade him for Shane Wright but that's a ludicrous statement. GMJG is not that dumb. Oh sorry, it's EVPHOJG now. Man, that just doesn't have the same rhythm as GMJG. nor the nice bookend Gs.
