Post-Game Talk: MTL lose 5-2 against OTT

I think some are putting too much expectations on Demi's debut, just don't get too disappointed when doesn't carry the team on his back.
Be happy if he can compete and show us his potential in the short term.

Nah,

You're expecting too little.

Serious question:
Will Demidov win rookie of the year this year if he plays like a beast in his 2 regular season games?

🔲 YES
🔲 PROBABLY
🔲 NO DEFINITELY

Habs were knocked around in first and didn't respond
Thus 3-0
Cant play D like that and have no offense
This winning streak was remarkable considering they were out played in over half the games
That was their third poor game in a row. It may well be that we shot our load getting this far and we have nothing in the tank.

I thought Newhook was our best player by a fair bit. Showed great speed and effort.

They better pick up their socks or that playoff spot may well vanish.

Struble will have to learn that as a third pair dman, he will need to use his body and strenght more along the boards or in front of the net. We don’t need another fancy dman. Third pair dmans arr for the trenches. But i guess MSL will give him all the ropes in the world and none to xhekaj. If X would have been the one to get beat in a 1vs1 battle in front of the net like Struble did on the sens first goa, he wouldnt have seen the ice for the rest of the game.
Overall, he’s softer than ice cream compared to X. Not sure where the big advantage is in his play either.

Whos betting they don't show up in the first tomorrow, either ?

Cause you should.

Who's to blame ?

Coach can't motivate ?

Leadership isn't that good?

GM's failure to get proper energy players ?
Wouldn't surprise me if they were doing some Eastern Zen thing meditation.. i hear it gives you pure relaxation for 30minutes, then watch out!

The first Sens goal was in good part because of Slaf's bad coverage.
Marty should’ve tried everything he could to keep that line away from the Sean’s top line. They owned them all night. Certainly not a great defensive line. They’re a one trick pony.

The entire line was soft and dopey including Suzuki. Marty started the wrong line if he was expecting instant energy. I'm not sure why he doesn't remember how our top line struggled against Pinto in previous games but were much better against any of the other lines. Ottawa did a great job of getting their match ups right.
EXACTLY!

Finally finished (for the most past skipping though) the game. Thank god, Xhekaj didn't play. Oof... really dodged the bullet, there.

FFS... what will it take to get through st louis' thick head that you have to have muscle in your lineup. God! What a moron! And for the like zillion's time Habs fail to start the game on time. Can st louis get a clue? It was sad to watch sensators running around like they are tough guys without any push back. Anderson is probably so banged up he can't adequately push back. Pezz had a decent scrap but so what? He doesn't do anything else. If coach wasn't so obtuse, Arbs could have been given a green light to go after a couple of sens stars like stutzle... it would have quickly calmed them down.

Oh well... gotta wait and hopefully win the chicago game, because sure as hell not beating the leafs playing like they did tonight... and again not showing up for about half the game.

Through Instanbul or direct?

Get him on a Molson jet, none of this is his fault.

Pezzetta over Heineman...

He really does have a face you’d like to punch.

It's weird for me to see an NHL coach who's still pretty green do this old dinosaur way of coaching. I know MSL never cared much for defense... But the team was always better when Savard didn't play and when Matheson had 15-17 minutes of ice instead of 32+.

Xhejai being in the dog house like this also really doesn't make sense. I have a feeling it’s become personal at this point. Also play Pezz has got to be a slap in the face. Can we really afford to play him?
I love Pez. He’s fearless and all heart. He was our captain in junior, but he’s pretty much AHL. Doesn’t make much sense to play him in a potential clinch game.
