Obviously a discount deal. It's a testament to the kind of culture the habs are brewing, and the signing is a further step towards a winning culture without mortgaging anything.

Honestly, this is the best possible outcome for the Habs. It would have been toxic for the culture to trade a valuable piece during their unexpected playoff push, and bad cap allocation to give him the number floating around (4x5).
