MTL : Joel Edmundson (great contract) + Ylonen + Luke Tuch + Struble
for
DETROIT : Tyler Bertuzzi

I'd love to have more grid with the habs to play with Gally or Anderson.

Detroit could use a top 4 LD and decent prospects like Ylonen and Tuch.

Edmundson is 28 and averages less than 20 points a season; I had to look Ylonen up -- he's listed at 168 pounds despite being a full-grown man at 22 years of age and he's not productive at any level; Tuch had 10 points in 26 games for Boston University.

Bertuzzi is 27, has 26 goals and 54 points in 58 games on a bad team, brings some toughness without being crazy, has high hockey IQ, is the prototype playoff competitor (albeit only AHL so far, but he fits the mold.)

And the "can't-play-in-Canada" thing isn't going to be a factor after this season.

So from Detroit's perspective, man, that's awfully tempting -- 3 worthless players at the cusp of waivers for an all-star -- but I'm thinking they'll pass.

When someone only looks at points column...ouch

While I do think that it would take more, or something different, to get Bertuzzi, saying the 3 Habs players are worthless is a joke and shows how little you know about hockey.

With only one season maybe Yzerman has moved a bit below the Mantha return request. Of course Bertuzzi has a better track record of being a more impactful player and though we haven't got to see it because the Wings have been bad there is a feeling from Junior and the AHL that he will be a playoff monster. He has kind of a unique value and maybe with just one year we get the rare Yzerman loss.

I get the Habs cannot offer a first rounder this year, but I think we find a better package than this if we are moving Bertuzzi. He is the kind of guy that probably has a touch more value in front offices than he does with fans. I really do think he is getting moved, there is too much smoke around this in Detroit it feels like. But I will be disappointed if this is all Yzerman returned, it isn't enough.

1st, younger top 6 potential forward in the NHL and a pick or lower prospect would seem to be Yzerman's return. It won't be cheap to get him in my opinion. I would allow contract talks if it helps the return too in terms of how I hope Yzerman does this.

In attempting to acquire Bertuzzi, an okay NHL defenseman, an okay D prospect, and an okay forward prospect are kind of worthless. I mean, I could offer you Filip Hronek, Albert Johansson, and Jonathan Berggren for Gallagher and I bet your response would be "Under no circumstances is that acceptable."

That's similar to what you're offering here. So if that trade offer is offensive to you, you know our feeling.

As a Habs fan I would do this trade. But I am one of the guys who think the Habs should rebuild and Gallagher s contract will be bad by the time they are serious contenders.

First I am not offering anything, last I checked I am not the OP. And maybe you should learn to read as I wrote that this would not get Bertuzzi...my issue was with someone bashing 3 players just based on point totals and nothing else really. There is more to these players, especially Edmundson and Ylonen than offence.

This is hilariously bad for Detroit, and we know this because Montreal fans in this thread are criticizing Wings fans for "looking at stats".

Oh sorry, you're right, it's completely unfair for us to have not watched Laval Rocket and Boston University games this year to actually make a concrete opinion on your two maybes that are part of this awful trade proposal.

Holy f***ing hell lmao

This is a situation where the offer is terrible for the Wings. The sum of the parts does not equal Bert. On the flip side, it makes zero sense to trade for a guy who can't even get into Canada in the foreseeable future.

Bertuzzi isn't tradeable.

Tuch is worth basically nothing, so we can throw him out of this.

Ylonen is young prospect doing well in the NHL. He probably never becomes the calibre of player Bertuzzi is right now.

Joel Edmundson, a big stay at home top-4 D. I don’t feel like Detroit is a team who could use a guy like this as much as a contender.

The above is not enough for first line winger like Bertuzzi, and that’s not considering the weird situation surrounding him.

There’s really no deal to be made here.

Detroit declines easily.

Anyway it makes no sense. Edmundson is one of the big leader of this team. Don't think he'll be traded.
