Just another depth move. Nothing to write home about. But I think Bergevin is looking to make the Habs a much tougher team with the acquisitions of Benn and Ott. Ott is only at 800K ad is a UFA this summer. Nothing handcuffing.

We do need a more important trade.

I have never watched the Red Wings play but I can tell you he is the worst player to ever play in the nhl because hf boards dot com told me

I think you're mistaken.

Drewiske was acquired in like April and he played 9 games to end the season. He didn't play playoffs though. He was extended but suffered injury.

Mistaken how? He was acquired the day before the trade deadline. Exactly like Ott. And he played a few games to end the season and didn't play in the playoffs. Which is exactly what I said might well happen with Ott.

Maybe they intend on using him as a faceoff coach. I mean, there's no way they actually plan on using him as a player.. Right? :help:

I love it. People are ******** on this trade and completly forgets that we have a centerman that hasnt scored in 35 games and can't win a faceoff to save his life. Plus we had some grit to our lineup for the playoffs instead of a weak ass Mitchell or Flynn

Meh... makes the 4th line grittier... if he is good enough to play over ghetto/Carr/Flynn/mccarron

Bargainbin adding to his career collection of long past due depth aquisitions. Reeks of a "for the sake of saying I did something" kind of move. As little value as the 6th had, overall MB's asset management stinks.

Mitchell, Flynn all played regularly(still do).

Drewiske played first 9 games he came, out of 13 left. I can't recall if someone else came back from injury or something to cut his ice time or if he didn't do enough.

I just don't see Ott being scratched more than half the time. I think McCarron might sit instead on occasion.
