This is yet another proposal that works for neither team - Montreal is in no position to be selling off multiple pieces with potential, that fit the timeline for the current core, to improve for the next few years, while they still have 4-5 bad contracts on the books, and Carolina is trying to win now and has no reason to sell a key piece in its prime for a series of unproven kids/picks.

I get that you are just trying to make a joke here but Huberdeau on his last contract and his production in Florida would probably be on par with my example, maybe even more in the Jason Robertson value + age + term per cap hit range

Also get 3 great player cheap on the cap salary.

Canes: We need size and scoring upfront. We've got Nikishin, Morrow and a number of solid D prospects, and a too many bottom six players; and all of our top F prospects are skilled, but small.

Just from Carolina's viewpoint, how would this improve their competitiveness? I don't think it would.
