I mean, our 2nd + 3rd might be pretty close/equal to Boston's first based on last year results. However with Swayman still unsigned and a very competitive eastern conference, there's no way Boston does this. Dvorak will need to play a lot better to have decent value, even at 50%. Otherwise he has the value of a 5th round pick right now at 50%.

If Hab fans would just try to put themselves in the shoes of boston fans, ask yourself if that was your team would you really want your GM trading for Dvorak. Not even the return forget about the 1st for a second, would you as a fan of a contending team really think he's the answer? A guy that's only played in 94 games over the last 2 years and makes almost 6M.

I don't see a fit for Boston, but the value isn't terrible given likely end of season standings.

Good point about Swayman.

Good point about Swayman.

that's moving the goal posts though, as who knows what kind of season he will have after playing just 30 games last year, so that's kind of the point. Forget the value, for a second and say yes or no if you were a boston fan today would you want them to trade for Dvorak?

Fans are terrible at rating players though. He could be a useful addition to plenty of teams, and depth at C is important. Boston fans don't see him filling a need, I see him going to a team like Chicago trying to build NHL caliber depth.

Remove the 1st from BOS side, and this might be fair.

Why tf would BOS be the ones giving a 1st? Lmao.

Even retained, Dvorak and a 3rd gets you an AHL tweener you hope to get 50-100 NHL games out of.
He's approaching waiver wire. Maybe he can reboot his career but damned if I'm the GM to roll those dice.

Dvorak is the most boring, vanilla player in the entire league. Dude is literally the definition of a warm body on skates (is he even warm? somebody check that pulse). 0 emotion, 0 f***s given about anything whatsoever. It's amazing he still pots 30-40 per year given his lethargic, reptilian demeanor.
Hey man, I've seen reptiles work pretty damn hard to earn their meal. Say what you want about Dvorak but no need to slag reptiles.

by that admission that means you also are terrible at rating players so you saying that Dvorak has worth is almost meaningless?:dunno:

He has never reached 40 points in any year of his career

Yeah the Yotes schooled MTL on that move. The Habs GM was historically incompetent & you’re right 38 pts, a career high, on a team where Dvo got primo ice time. Cost a 1st, 2nd and a month later his job.
It was a last gasp effort. Dvorak coming off career year and Berg's just lost two centers to free agency. He was desperate.
