It's starts to get quiet when hope diminishes and then come the boos. Because when a team plays sloppy, turns the puck over a lot, plays out of position, loses faceoffs, it's only natural to place the blame on one person.

so glad I gave up my season tickets 4 years ago... **** them. I used to go to 41 games a year, and for the past few years I've only gone like once or twice per year. Went to one game this year and it felt more like a library than a hockey game. Better off just watching them suck from my couch.

Never knew or heard about anyone being ejected for being too loud but did gave one incident with fans using excessive profanity. Now, if you know me, you know it had to be pretty bad to be excessive. I gave one rowdy quite a ration and one of the security guards came over and backed me up. Most Garden ushers seem to stay clear of controversy.

I remember going to a game around 1960 when someone in the upper deck launched balloons printed with "Muzz Must Go" and "Muzz Doit Aller" - not the best French, but the dissatisfaction with the GM was clear, even if some of the balloons were lost in the cigar smoke haze. There may have been chanting.

The Cigar Must Go!

This brought back very fond memories. One of my first games was during the "Muzz Must Go" time frame. It was incredible. Imagine the entire arena chanting this in unison, loudly throughout the game. Boy, the fans hated Muzz. And eventually he went. I didn't really understand at the time but came to realize how energized the fans were.

Made me also think of this legendary cheer (Referee Bill) "Friday is a bum"! And he was.

What I get upset about is the fact that you watch other NHL Playoff games and the home crowd is consistently going crazy. When the rangers made it 3-2 the other night on Zuccs goal with 7 minutes left the place should have been going bonkers and it wasn't at all. I often question this because I know for a fact that if I was there or any other of my buddies were there we would be going ******* supporting the boys. I guess the issue is the "fans" at the game are there just to attend a New York Rangers hockey game, not be a New York Rangers hockey fan. What else can you expect though with the owner playing Candy Crush and leaving a playoff game with 10 minutes left to go in a one goal game. The link to that is http://philly.barstoolsports.com/ra...y-crush-from-his-suite-during-playoff-action/

The censorship at MSG remins me life itself after having lived in 10 countries. Little man needs to be obedient, smile, stay in line and root for the illusion while unnoticingly slaving for the Big Man in every way. Why would it be any different inside a sports arena than in the bleak world in which we live in?

A very enlightened post. Sports serve as a representation of society in more ways than one.

There is most definitely censorship of the fans at MSG. Earlier this season, the guy in the row in front of me was loudly chanting 'Fire Sather', and then 'Sather sucks', during the Potvin chant. Sure enough, he received a visit from 2 security guards, and was told he would be ejected if he didn't stop. Apparently Glen was sitting right above us and told the guards to throw him out. They didn't eject him but he was quiet after that.

Been to plenty of games this season and haven't noticed anything of the sort. Obviously the building as a whole has been quieter but I think that's more attributable to the same reasons that are brought up all the time (ticket prices, acoustics, etc).

One thing that really isn't brought up which I don't think helps matter is the lower level seats near the penalty boxes and benches. The bench side is the event level suites and they're empty to start every period since everyone is in the boxes and the same goes for the seats behind the benches since everyone is on the Delta Club. They probably don't care at all at MSG but the start of the 2nd and 3rd periods are always dead and I'm sure it doesn't help that no one in is in their seats when they start.

I was there Nash and i was the guy who handled the Guards..This was a great recap of what happened Nash nailed it word for word. Sather called the head of security and ordered the box to be evicted for being unruly lol.. I spoke to the head of security for the floor and he agreed this was a total joke . They then proceeded to assign to guards to the door and they sat there the rest of the game.. I was there again last night and spoke to a few guys who teased me that I had more pull then Sather.. They informed me that Glen has Rabbit ears and is very sensitive to be called out or spoken to and that JS is his enforcer. He told me during the flyers series fans were thrown out for being to loud and at one point Sather had to be held back from charging a group of fans chanting Fire Sather.. The Garden got my last dollar for now because I was embarrassed how they treated there fans.. I was asked to cut a promo for the score board because of the guys i was with at the Time Eddie Giacomin and Gresh. I shot the video about the 79 Rangers Team and when i was done the producer told me it was the best one of the Playoffs and then told me they wont air it because I was wearing a Boogaard tee shirt on.. I asked why and they told me the Rangers wont use it... FU Dolan and MSG,. I sold 40 thousand dollars worth of Tickets in two series only to be embarrassed by them

Am I glad I happened to peruse this thread. Sorry you got treated like this.

Has anyone seen the video of the Oilers presser where MacTavish was asked about the "rebuild" and the press asked them about the many high picks with no results? Kevin Lowe goes off on a diatribe about how he has 6 cups and who knows more than him, blah blah blah. He and Sather are cut from the same cloth. They are bullies, and legends in their own minds. This is why Slats has a job for life....he and Jimmy-Boy are so much alike.

This explains a lot. Explains why Sather avoids the press, avoids all interviews unless they are by his lackey Matheson in Edmonton. This is why the Rangers are going nowhere under this management. The goals are the gates from a round or 2 of playoffs. They are NOT to win.

This sounds like a lot of bs. Come on, you have fans screamin at the GM, of course ****ing security is gonna show up haha.

See, Dagoon made it sound like they were cheering and chanting and got told to be quiet. Then he finally tells the story and its basically his group yelling at Glen Sather and Jim Shoenfeld. Talk about a bait and switch there.

So you yelled at the guy that runs the franchise all night and you expected him to like "ya cool keep going". Not exactly a bright guy that Daggoon.

Perhaps it's time for a clever, positive chant not of the form "let's go team!" An actual song would be a nice change. I invite North American fans to visit Stamford Bridge, the Etihad, Allianz Arena, the Bernabeu, etc.

Certain players on this team deserve to be booed every time they touch the puck or their name is announced. If the coach and other players don't like it, they can either suck it up or ask to leave and go earn their obscene salaries elsewhere. I'm almost hoping the Rangers crap the bed tomorrow and bring out the boo-birds and maybe we'll see the last of Vigneault, Richards, Stepan, and (please god) Nash and their sensitive fee-fees.

sounds like this boils down to Glen Sather being overly sensitive. Pretty ballsy that he's out there listening for any sort of derogatory chants to quell them down. IMO that's just asking everyone to come in to taunt him, especially changing the Pejorative Slured potvin sucks chant that has to be retired once and for all

What did Vigneault do to you?

Absolutely. Very misleading headline. At least he knows how to write news these days, just grab the attention.

First off don't mix words to make this a agenda vs me.. I never said a single word and I don't cheer or boo I sit and watch hockey.. The gentleman who yelled simply asked when was a number one center going to be signed. No one harassed Sather, the fans being throw out for being loud or refusing to be quiet was a story from msg security .. Get facts right and stop the non sense

I am bright enough to spell my name right

He's bellyaching that the fans are bringing the team down by booing his precious babies. Eff him. It's not like he's a good coach anyway.

Ya most people disagree with you. You act like Torts didn't protect his players in the media either (except Hagelin).
