Hell baby
Tarot was a piece of shit, not that anybody should be surprised by that. Far more watchable than The Strangers Chapter One though

I can send my review if anyone really cares, but Atlas is really bad.

Review this

Perhaps this

Certainly this

Howie Mandel with hair! Christina Pickles! Ed Begley, Jr. Some guy who became the Equalizer Bunny and also went hairless,

this?

Pre-Letterman, irony-free 70s (Lance went "all the way" @ 16),

Nah,

Her so-called life,

or, ah, it actually wasn't bad, lasting as long as my coffee stays hot, or warm, or

"First of all, don't do that."

"Second, you got that from Vickers. ..."

Gag. Gagging,

My, what a jolly bunch,

"My witless chum,"

Surely the penultimate,

This Is Boston, Not LA,

"When you're facing a loaded gun, what's the difference?"

Masshole Mashnote,

There's one I left out.

Bull & Finch, I think,

Most recents for me. The Wailing is on the long side but I found it to be thrilling. Session 9 is an October favorite that I revisited early. The Fall might strike some as pretentious but it's a movie worth watching - all about the power of storytelling. Ink is flawed but another one worth seeing - indie project but in my opinion a trip worth taking. The Vanishing - 1988 version. Not US remake - if you see Jeff Bridges run away fast.

Is that the Dutch The Vanishing? That’s a devastating damn movie. I love it.

Session 9 I remember enjoying at the time but ultimately not memorable.

The Fall I think is genius and beautiful and reminds me why I love cinema.

The Wailing I’ve never heard of, although I saw The Chaser and loved it. Will have to check it out.

Movies I’ve watched since Tarot-

The Fall Guy: 7.5 (great date movie)

In a Violent Nature: 6.7 (unique Canadian slasher with little dialogue)

31: 5.2 (mean spirited rob zombie movie)

Babes: 7.2 (cute comedy)

The Watchers: 6.0 (I liked it more than critics, M.Night’s daughter directed and Dakota Fanning starred)

Mad Max Fury Road: 8.8 (sick movie, shouldn’t have waited so long to see it)

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga: 8.6 (Also a sick movie)

Yes the Dutch version. Brilliant as is The Fall.

Check out The Wailing. It's a trip.

Reminded me of

This then reminded of an absolute favorite. Think of Loncraine's Richard III (1995) as a black comedy, and Ian McKellen's hilariously arch performance as one definition of camp,

Shakespeare, anyone?

Is “in a violent nature” available in U.S. yet?

Not sure, it could conceivably be on Shudder- I know they were a production company on the film

My theater had it playing for about a week. Very unique movie, kinda slow but also a lot of the payoff is worth it and the nature shots are pretty beautiful

Just saw The Bikeriders- great flick. Reminds of a vintage sons of anarchy.

I saw both Maxxxine and Longlegs this week

Maxxxine is a much more comfortable watch. A fun movie.

Longlegs is disturbing and Nic Cage’s performance is so unsettling. Fantastic stuff. Silence of the Lambs is what it gets comped to a little bit but i was far more tensed up watching Longlegs for the first time than that

Watched the Iron Claw on the weekend. Good film. The only thing that bothered me was the guy playing Ric Flair, lol.

I watched Fresh Kills over the weekend. Very good movie. Acting was phenomenal. Jennifer Esposito had to mortgage her home to get this movie made. She's been trying her whole life. It's about what she saw and experienced living in Long Island with the mob. But how the women suffered the most. So it's from that perspective. Very intense. It's on Amazon Prime.

watched Oppenheimer last night. I found it boring, tedious, and too much Nolan's usual bag of tricks with the mixing of the timeline with flash-backs and flash-forwards. Best part of the movie was Florence Pough ( when isn't she the best part of a movie ).
