I don't see the regime that just paid a mount for Larsson and Renihart to leave either unprotected or trade either (obviously).

Vegas would be fools not to take Davidson over Reinhart if Reinhart spends 2016-17 in the AHL as planned. If they're that worried about they can always flip LV an asset to not take him. That's happened plenty of times in the past and is allowed.

I see your fanbase still thinks that Roy runs the Avs. Joe Sakic is in compete control, he has final say over everything. The draft should have put to bed this myth that the Avs pursue "Roy" players, which weirdly enough are typically stupid players that other fanbases are willing to part with. The Avs passed over 6'6 Logan Brown in the draft to pick 5'11 Tyson Jost, one of three players taken in the entire first round below 6 feet. Let's end this foolishness about Patrick Roy players.

This. Yesterday they overpaid because of a huge need. That need isn't nearly the same now. Any more dman trades become a different beast now, more of a luxury. Thinking all other trades that they make will be the same overpay as Larsson is incorrect thinking.

At some point, Nurse Klefbom, and Reinhart are going to mature then we will have an overglut and cap cramped D . Chia needs to be careful here .

We have

Larsson, Nurse, Klefbom, Reinhart as blue chip quality D who are going to range from top 4 to #1 defenders

We got Davidson as a pleasant surprise freebee . We should just add a Brian Campbell or someone to mentor for a year or 2 and leave it alone.

We should concentrate on GRIT upfront and a franchise goalie. Talbot is a solid starter but he wont win us the cup.

Because they do need d? They just don't need them nearly as badly as they did yesterday. They can be a lot more pickier about who they go for and what they pay. They just aren't as desperate anymore.

Sekera is a legit top 4 dman while Davidson is at least capable of being in the lineup. Their are some that even think he's a 4-5 already.
