Good players on bad teams will never get enough credit. I’m sure it’s difficult maintaining a positive outlook over a losing season and even harder with multiple losing seasons. Dahlin is super talented.
Chara, Karlsson, SandersonThe Senators and #1, star defense-men will just always be a thing, eh?
Sanderson is a beast.
Lankanin has been trash since signing a contract, heard that one before?Idk man I think it's probably a goalie or defenseman. I think Sorokin is quite literally the only thing keeping that ship afloat, Daccord is a good one, maybe Q Hughes or Lankinen. Probably have to really dig into the numbers, but those are my vibes guesses.
And to think of the adversity he's faced this season as well. Lost Seguin for the year (his top guy chemistry-wise), lost Marchment for a while too. Has singlehandedly carried that Stars 2nd line and 2nd PP unit. Also was the key guy in turning the top PP unit around mid-season
Also, without him the Stars transition game from their forwards would be just awful.
That's only because the real coach no one is talking about is Scott Arniel. People can all pretend they didn't have the Jets written off this year. Even the majority of Sportsnet/CBC had them missing the playoffs. Sportsnet is supposed to be kissing the Jets Canadian ass but they barely talk about them in the intermission of their own game. Not sure who you pick on the Caps(Ovi?) but Spencer Carbery has them playing amazing hockey.
Should win the Jack Adams comfortably.
Yeah, he would be a good choice as well, but they don't coach in a "big market" so they get left by the wayside. That's only because the real coach no one is talking about is Scott Arniel. I'm not saying Carbery isn't worthy. No one could complain if/when he wins. I'm just see Arniel as worthy of having a shot or at least some votes at number 1.Yeah, he would be a good choice as well, but they don't coach in a "big market" so they get left by the wayside.
He's been solid but I don't think he has the amount of games played needed to really be in that sort of conversation.Anthony Stolarz
Guy has been a stud all year for us. 16-8-3 and a .919svp with 2.35 gaa
That is the 3rd best save percentage behind only Vasi and Helly and 5th best goals against average in the entire league. Sure him and Woll are in a tandem, but top 5 in both stats and has been consistently great all year.
Hope I don't jinx it but he has legitimately been elite.
Crosby comes to mind as well. Pittsburgh is just bad, but can you imagine how bad they'd be without him?

I mean he's been extremely valuable to us with very little recognition. Obviously not winning the Vezina or Hart, but I think he fits for what the OP is asking. Everyone gives Matthews/Marner/Nylander credit, this guys been one of our most important players all year. He's been solid but I don't think he has the amount of games played needed to really be in that sort of conversation.
Thats fair, I thought he was going to be the back up for you guys starting the year but he really stepped up his game. He's been a really good signing that I don't think people talk about enough.I mean he's been extremely valuable to us with very little recognition. It's career stats. Missed 215 games = 2.62 seasonsHe's missed two games. That's it. That is not a good sample size. Sid no question about it has been valuable to the Pens. That team is a lottery team without him and with him they are at least not mathematically eliminated from the playoffs yet.
