Forgot about Malakhov. So much potential that never really materialized
Wasn't it Malakhov that was caught downhill skiing when he was supposed to be out with a serious knee injury?

As much as I like Subban, he was hard to watch at times too. Too many spin-o-rama's, acting a tough guy then running away. Lots of killed offensive plays where he tried to be too fancy. But the kid could play too! When it worked, it was beautiful to watch.

Svoboda always skating with his tongue sticking out was weird too - always thought it was going to get bitten off or something lol.

Edit: RENE BOURQUE! The original Armia.

I had an irrational hate for Zednik post incident.

I was much younger tho, I might have felt differently if it happened now.

He was not here for long, but Thomas Vanek was really frustrating to watch during those playoffs. He was not put in a position to succeed by Therrien, but it was painful to watch for me when he had the puck and the way he skated so slow like he did not even care.

Yes that's why he was traded I believe.

I agree with everything said and I'll add Jiri Sekac. Guy had the size and wheels and decent shot to be a really nice fa signing, but between the ears and the coaching staff never materialized

He was a UFA and the Habs we’re going nowhere, he was getting traded regardless, but that certainly didn’t help.

Yannick Perreault. Biggest floater ever. Honorable mention to Brian Savage who got an undeserved big fat contract (thx to Koivu) and then obviously sat on that.

Was so hyped for his arrival. A few months later - Andre Savard “Mariusz doesn’t even know what’s wrong with Mariusz right now”

Was scoring like 25-30 goals a year with the Islanders, gets traded here, scores five... sent to the AHL, traded back to the Islanders and... scores 25 again!!!! Grr!! lol

Drouin, A. Kostitsyn and Pouliot come to mind. Drouin is a name that will be discussed for decades in terms of players that should have been better than what they were. However, I realized years ago that for all of his world-class skills (e.g. skating and puck control), Drouin is deeply, deeply lacking in hockey IQ, which is a disease without a cure unfortunately. We just have to accept and move on.

Drouin and Armia for having the skills and no heart or desire. Softer than butter. Gallagher for doing dumb shit all the time then acting the victim to the refs.

Number one though... Kovalev. Guy was the best player in the league when he wanted to be, then a floater the next three weeks. I hated him for that. If he played consistently, he would have been a superstar.
Good grief I completely forgot about the Gallagher gong show. Guy is a dumb ass through and through. Mindless dumbass.
