I felt better sitting last game out, so I think I'll do that again. I was still conflicted after the last game as to whether that result was a good or bad thing, so I think I'm still in a place where taking games off is a good thing. If Poulter plays, I'll hope for a good showing from him. That's about it.
How can you not watch?

I can’t wait to make the greatest goaltender in Montreal Canadiens history look like the greatest goaltender in Montreal Canadiens history.

We make MontemBLOW look better than Dryden, Roy, Price, Plante and Hart season Theodore COMBINED.

Even in the one game last year.

Guy sucks. I thought maybe he was playing above expected this year, but just that Montreal sucks (we won’t even know any better than that today I’m sure, we didn’t last month), which he is on evolving hockey, but moneypuck has him breaking below even.

One of the funniest multi-year extensions I’ve seen signed this year, but still not anywhere near as funny as the Lindy Ruff multi-year extension that starts in 2024.

f*** it

I almost hope we lose both games this weekend, because I just don’t see us making the playoffs.

Win some games so we miss the playoffs by 3-5 points and hear all the moral victories about how gutsy we played down the stretch to make it interesting?

We either need to make the playoffs or just let the wheels come completely off. I think losing out this weekend makes the wheels completely fall off. Even if we have some “Gutsy, heart and character” streaks down the stretch.

Because I can't figure out if I should be rooting for them to win or to lose and I don't like being in that place. They win and I feel like it takes them one step closer to both keeping Ruff around longer and making a stupid, shortsighted deadline deal. They lose and I'm pissed they lost. This feels like a no win situation for me personally. I'll watch the highlights, but no reason for me to lose 2.5 hours of my weekend watching them right now. I'll get back to watching when they are officially, or all but officially, eliminated.

Here’s a weirdo and depressing stat for you. Get ready for this.

Out of our next 4 opponents we’re a combined 1-4-1 on the season (the 1 win being in Montreal back in October) and our next 11 opponents we are a combined 2-9-3 this season.

The 2 wins being @ Montreal in October and @ Florida in January.

The 3 OT points being @ Tampa in January, @ Carolina earlier this month and vs Arizona in game 2 of the season.

f*** this season so much.

A blanking from Blackwood is coming. He and his Sharks teammates have had that date circled and the Devils will be coming in st the right time. It just keeps getting better and better!

No mention of who the Devils are playing in the title.

Should be a quiet thread tonight, I'd hope that people who do something they actually enjoy instead of watch a team they currently hate.

I do think after the way the last two games went there’s a realistic chance we burn the Habs alive today.

Only to lose to Tampa tomorrow and one of San Jose or Anaheim after that lol.

i don’t know about that, just because the Sharks wouldn’t even start him the last time they played us. They had a back to back and gave Blackwood Boston the night before and Kahkonen our game the next night. I swore they’d play him in our game, especially since it was a back to back and they didn’t.

He may or may not play Tuesday.

I just now realized your post was very DD-esque.

The cost for losing to the Sharks , Ducks and the Blue Jackets is a playoff spot right now SMH.
At least we went 3-1-0 against the Blue Jackets.

Though we almost blew the other home game against them also. That was the only game we scored with the goalie pulled to tie the game this year. We were so close to them hitting the empty net the other way, before Luke had the Niedermayer rush and fired it in to tie the game.

1-3-0 against the Capitals (who are low key almost as bad as any of those teams) is really painful and pathetic right now.

2-6-0 against the Capitals, Canadiens, Sharks and Ducks combined is sickening. Just downright grotesque.

And it’s not like we’re out there beating Carolina or Tampa or the Rangers or Dallas, who lost to everybody that plays within 90 miles of us in their buildings, yet blew us out in ours. Though we did beat Colorado (lost in Denver) and Vegas the one time we’ve played them so far.

Does it even matter anymore? They lose to cream of the crap teams at home left and right and clearly aren't good enough to hang with the mighty Rangers at home either.

And yes I hate a team that's underachieving where there's zero accountability anywhere in the organization.

To be fair, it also doesn't mention that the Devils are playing. Which is probably apt, because whatever they are doing these days, it isn't playing hockey.

After the frustration of the last two games, I think I've reached the next step in the program of being a Devils fan.

Fire Lindy. Don't Fire Lindy. Trade for a goalie. Don't trade for a goalie. Play Smith. Don't play Smith. Use guys out of position. Don't use guys out of position. Always score on the powerplay. Never score on the powerplay. Buy at the deadline. Sell at the deadline. I'm past it.

Winning makes the playoffs. Losing doesn't. Which way are you going to go?

I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the ride. Zen Fandom for the rest of the season.

(That being said, expect me to blow up at something about 5 minutes into the game)
