Most blatant intent to injure a goalie ever?

There was a play from the mid 2000's. Had to be somewhere from 2002-2005. It was 2 west coast teams. I want to say Flames and Ducks, but don't quote me on that. I remember the guy takes a huge shot at the goalie and is literally ready to fight the second after he takes his shot. It's hilarious and I've never seen someone intentionally run a goalie like that. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? The clip used to be on youtube, but I can't find it.

edit: 2 seconds later I find it. It is Flames and Ducks. Poor Mike Vernon lol

I’ll preface by saying that I don’t think it was intentional, just Kreider driving the net hard, shoots and is unable to stop.

But to say he was tripped, no chance. He fell skates forward. Based on this image, if he was tripped he would have fallen head forward. Unless of course the laws of physics cease to exist in Kreider’s skates, or however Vinny gambini would put it..
Why would he fall forward when Markov's stick is clearly flexing in a way that pushes Kreider's left leg forward? Have you never seen a can opener trip before?

Don't worry, nobody believes anything you say either.
Typical Habs fan gaslighting. Read the thread. Nobody but Habs fans are on your side.

You are using the term gaslighting when it's clear you don't understand what it means.

You can look up the term trolling too. That's what you're actually doing here.

So there was something in front of Kreider's ankles, making his feet go forward and his body back?

I’m a leaf fan, I watched the guy who invented the can opener. Not seeing that there. I see Markov making a swing and his shaft bends, he didn’t miraculously thread a needle with his stick, otherwise you would see his stick in front of his left leg.

I like how this immediately turns into a never-ending disagreement from 5+ years ago. Never get over it, HF.

But ya, that was dirty AF and that dude owes everyone an apology, his teammates included. “Sorry, lost my cool and did somethin dumb and it makes us all look bad, you had to scrum because I’m a baby, etc.”

Why do Habs fans pretend Kreider wasn't tripped?

It's been over 10 years ffs
He lost an edge and opted for the dangerous route. If he was tripped, the fall would've happened differently. That said, it is what it is and what happened, happened. Most people have moved on. Kreider is a player I don't like for various reasons. Anyways though, all that said, that whole sequence doesn't belong in this thread.

Why on earth would he have face planted? Look at the flex on the stick. It flung his left leg forward.

When a player shoots the puck, and the stick flexes like that, does the puck go forwards or backwards?

The Habs fanbase has been gaslighting the hockey community over this play for too long. Enough is enough. Nobody f***ing believes you anymore.

When a player shoots the puck, the puck is in front of the stick, not behind, so that would actually hinder your argumentation, not help it.

My question is why did his right leg (the primary point of contact) go forward and not backward?

I think the truth is in the middle. While Kreider did not go in with the intent to injure Price, he also did not try to avoid Price (or minimize contact) at all once he was tripped.

In a 2 years window (2013-2015), he had several significant run-ins with goalies. He calmed down a bit after that.
