Most blatant intent to injure a goalie ever?

There was a play from the mid 2000's. Had to be somewhere from 2002-2005. It was 2 west coast teams. I want to say Flames and Ducks, but don't quote me on that. I remember the guy takes a huge shot at the goalie and is literally ready to fight the second after he takes his shot. It's hilarious and I've never seen someone intentionally run a goalie like that. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? The clip used to be on youtube, but I can't find it.

I’ll preface by saying that I don’t think it was intentional, just Kreider driving the net hard, shoots and is unable to stop.

But to say he was tripped, no chance. He fell skates forward. Based on this image, if he was tripped he would have fallen head forward. Unless of course the laws of physics cease to exist in Kreider’s skates, or however Vinny gambini would put it..

Why would he fall forward when Markov's stick is clearly flexing in a way that pushes Kreider's left leg forward? Have you never seen a can opener trip before?

I’m a leaf fan, I watched the guy who invented the can opener. Not seeing that there. I see Markov making a swing and his shaft bends, he didn’t miraculously thread a needle with his stick, otherwise you would see his stick in front of his left leg.

Absolutely. I appreciate where the game is today but I miss that kind of stuff. There’s no drama in the NHL today. Zegras got called a name by a player and that was threadworthy.

He lost an edge and opted for the dangerous route. If he was tripped, the fall would've happened differently. That said, it is what it is and what happened, happened. Most people have moved on. Kreider is a player I don't like for various reasons. Anyways though, all that said, that whole sequence doesn't belong in this thread.

When a player shoots the puck, the puck is in front of the stick, not behind, so that would actually hinder your argumentation, not help it.

My question is why did his right leg (the primary point of contact) go forward and not backward?

I think the truth is in the middle. While Kreider did not go in with the intent to injure Price, he also did not try to avoid Price (or minimize contact) at all once he was tripped.

In a 2 years window (2013-2015), he had several significant run-ins with goalies. He calmed down a bit after that.
