Most average player in the NHL?

I nominate Tyler Bozak.

12 years in the league, many of them in a middle 6 role. Yet he's hit 20 goals only once and hit 50 points only once. 6'1" 199lbs.

Good 2 way player, but not a shutdown guy nor a big scorer. Meshes well with good linemates, but capable of being useful all alone on line 4.

Blake Comeau was playing games in the NHL as recent as November which was shocking.

If he didn’t get hurt 30 games into the 2014 season, he would have crushed his single season points record playing on Malkin’s wing. Still came close.

909 NHL GP under his belt.

Bozak had really good speed, Hoffman was a good scorer. My vote would be Derek Ryan.

Brandon Saad. Probably a little bit better than average, but fits the description as far as being a player that is decent at pretty much everything with no standout skills.

This was the name that came first to me too.

Call me crazy, and this is likely to do with the fact that I remember him on the Thrashers, but I immediately thought of Zach Bogosian.

I remember someone producing some kind of statistic about this about 6 or 7 years ago, and iirc they determined the answer was Scottie Upshall.
lol, I grew up in Phoenix and I love me some Coyotes, but they treated that man like he was a rockstar
