No one is saying he should care. But if you want to show up a rival be prepared to get decked.

I personally would have either dropped the gloves or just body checked him and taken a 2 minute roughing penalty. the cross check to the head was not necessary by Rielly

yea greig obviously did it to piss of the leafs it worked and now Reilly because of his own dumbassery is suspended.

nice job of greig to sowing so much angst in a rival team.

a true hockey competitor.

LOL what a dumbass. Guess you know what to do when you play this child in the playoffs. Easy tantrum

you seem to be one most aptly described as "screaming" tbh, calm down

Yeah I am screaming…..screaming about it being one of the dirtiest cheap shots in the league this season.

If you think that play was much ado about nothing then remain chill and go read the trade board.

That's the thing. Revenge for what?

This is a physical game. Emotions always run high. Hell, fighting is an integral part of hockey. However, I find it immensely hilarious that a teams' last straw is being finished by an empty net slap shot. Like.. THAT'S THE STRAW THAT BROKE THE CAMELS BACK. And the revenge is cross-checking a guy in the head after he scores a goal.

f***ing soft.
Revenge for Ridley being a double. Leafs are way too soft. I want them cross checking after every whistle like Chiarot, slew footing like Marchand, head hitting like Trouba and destroying people on ENG like Rielly and Scheifele.

Are some of you completely out of it? Hammering the puck home on an empty net is a salt in the wounds move. 100% intended to be taken that way.

Nobody is denying this. It was a 100 percent bait move because Greig is a bit of a pest.

That is the entire point. Reilly hilariously overreacted and got baited. Now he will be suspended and the Leafs might miss the playoffs because of it.

I have NOTHING against Reilly but I'd give him 5.

Game was over and targetted the head on a dude with his arms down.

I don't think taking a slapper at an empty net is a crime.. it would've actually been funny if it hit the crossbar BUT if he had an issue with it... skate up to him and say 'drop the gloves' and fight him, facewash him, slash his shinpads and call him a f*** or create a big scrum and start fighting.

BUT this was too far.. not even close to reasonable. Pulling the puck out of the net and taking a slapper at him would've been funny!

I don’t understand the crybabies whining about the slap shot.

Is it classless? Yeah probably. Does it increase rivalries? Absolutely.

That’s a good thing folks.

How does this even make sense? Crosschecking someone in the head when they're not paying attention is the more cowardly option

I don't think the Sens players minded. No one seemed to go after Rielly.

Heck, Tampa made more of a fuzz when Point went into the boards without being touched.

The CBC damage control is comical at this point.

Sad to see my old pal Kevin Bieksa become such a Leaves fluffer.

He knows all too well how the rest of the HNIC viewing audience feels about dat dere.

And then he tries to get Giroux to agree with him it wasn't that bad in the interview? :skeptic:

Not to mention Kev trying to convince Hrudey the same.

But you could tell he was embarrassed and subdued after that.

I'm thinking someone told him to settle down.

C'mon Kev...

Yeah there's no doubt it's a suspension but you probably do that 10/10 times and live with it lol
If the leafs apply that same logic, every team with an open net opportunity against the leafs should shoot the puck like Greig did.

It will be a suspension filled season in leafland.
