Watching Askarov struggle to stop a beach all was... disheartening. I love botching goalie prospects. This f***ing team can't get out of its own way
As someone who has complained a lot about him processing the game too slowly, I haven't seen much of that the last few games. He is looking better and making a positive impact out there. He’s looked pretty good the last 4-5 games in areas he needs to improve in.
I understand the need to get Georgie’s trade value up by getting him starts they should’ve sent Asky down to get him some reps and called up Dell or Romanov to sit. Theres very clearly a player development problem with this franchise still and they need to get it sorted out asap before they ruin another prospectIt’s like the team’s directive changes from week to week.
So did Kovalenko when he first played. Give him a couple of quiet games and he’ll be put with Goodrow and then scratched.small silver lining, duer or duter or whatever his name is looked competent. put his big ass on the 1st powerplay in front of the net.
He and Kunin had a couple really good physical shifts in the first period and it made me realize that Goodrow and Kunin don't finish checks most of the time. And they promptly went back to not finishing checks after the first.I've said this enough already but one more time for good measure and I'll stop.
Get rid of f***ing Barclay Goodrow. He does absolutely nothing.
I'm going to chalk this up to a really emotional night for him, which is understandable.Watching Askarov struggle to stop a beach all was... disheartening. I love botching goalie prospects. This f***ing team can't get out of its own way
He's processing much faster but still taking too long to actually make the plays. at least he has mostly cut off the huge gaffes, but I am not entirely sure he hasn't replaced it by just not being inside on plays. several times tonight he contested pucks from the wrong side, which seems to be avoiding physical impact. granteed, that's not new, but it ended up making it basically impossible for him to win the pucks. even if he did separate the puck from the man he would not have been able to pick it up and it would have just gone deeper into our d zone.As someone who has complained a lot about him processing the game too slowly, I haven't seen much of that the last few games. You act as if Coach Warso is doing this as an act of punishment. In his eyes, there is no bigger privilege than being on Goodrow’s lineSo did Kovalenko when he first played. Give him a couple of quiet games and he’ll be put with Goodrow and then scratched.
kovy has still looked pretty competent (especially taking into account he's been inured), just not in much position to succeed. he has some hands. So did Kovalenko when he first played. Give him a couple of quiet games and he’ll be put with Goodrow and then scratched.
If the sharks don’t botch his development he’s likely to be a 50-55 game starter in this league if not even 60. He needs to be active or his play suffers. He took his AHL team either to the finals or conference finals before he got yanked for Grosenick. Did he implode or did he get tired from playing so many games. Hes simply being mishandled right nowWasn't he sick for some period in there?
I remember Nashville fans saying he was great in the A until he faced pressure in the playoffs and he imploded 2 years in a row. I wonder if we saw some version of that tonight. Dude is a super emotional guy and looked to be sliding all over the place tonight. Way over active. IMO it could be as simple as he needs to learn how to emotionally regulate in big game situations. I'm not worried. Kid is young and has plenty of time to learn before we're going on our playoff runs.
Honestly that line should be the starting line until everyone else can get their shit together and start on timesmall silver lining, duer or duter or whatever his name is looked competent. put his big ass on the 1st powerplay in front of the net.

He's had a couple of bad ones already and this defense is doing no favors. Better turn it around or we f***ed ourselves again. He needs to start net game or get sent down. Not playing him is self sabotage and malpractice. Are people mad that we didn’t play Askarov when he was so sick that he lost weight? I’m confused.
He didn’t really look like himself - rebounds, lack of confidence, etc. I’m sure he’s still recovering + hasn’t played for a while. Maybe some nerves vs Nashville? He’ll be fine. Trust in Askarov, Trust in Speer.
We would’ve lost 10-1 last season. As frustrating as it was to lose and as badly as I wanted them to win, I want Schaefer even more. So, you know, silver lining.
Good to see Granlund play improve. Smith is looking more like a regular NHL player with shifts that are meh and shifts that are elite. He’s been better in puck battles and generally on the defense side of things, so that’s nice to see. And Mack goal. Good takeaways.
Boy, these guys need a win though.

And it’ll be his lastIt was one start. Calm the hell down.
He's definitely playing on the perimeter, but at least he's starting to make plays from out there (like on the Zetterlund goal). For a while it felt like his only noticeable players were when he was all alone with a ton of space. To me, that's big and exciting progress! He's processing much faster but still taking too long to actually make the plays. at least he has mostly cut off the huge gaffes, but I am not entirely sure he hasn't replaced it by just not being inside on plays. several times tonight he contested pucks from the wrong side, which seems to be avoiding physical impact. granteed, that's not new, but it ended up making it basically impossible for him to win the pucks. even if he did separate the puck from the man he would not have been able to pick it up and it would have just gone deeper into our d zone.

For JT MillerHe's requesting his way out of town with Celebrini as we speak. The two of them and Eklund are all working on submitting a joint trade request so they can go to the same team.
