This was after the play and resulted in nothing...or is it because it was an american team, specifically the bruins doing it.

new rulings can be had though. Perron just got 6 games for it. People thought that was unfair aswell but they can have a new standard on head shots if they want especially those that were obviously an intent to injure

This play is also two players battling which is different. Rielly will have a hard time proving that he wasn't pissed when he went out of his way to cross check the guy in the face after a goal was scored.

Ottawa
Three games and a circle in the calendar for the next Leafs-Sens game. Before that game, Tavares will mock an empty net slapshot in the ultimate Alfie-callback and the Battle of Ontario will be fully back. League will expand to 36 teams and the Leafs-Sens will be down to two games per year.

In the head??

The Simmons one where he was cross checked twice in the face including a broken stick comes to mind.

I was all for Rielly getting a suspension, and I think he still gets one obviously.

But you can see in a slow mo that Rielly hits the arms. Rides up his shoulder pad then drops his bottom hand.

The jersey and pad clearly move.

When did Bautista get hit in the head with a bat while rounding the bases after his bat flip?
I don't believe I said that, but there are plenty of examples of the code in baseball. He did get sucker punched a year later by the same team, for example.

What about Montreal's 9 suspensions? Is that more than 8?
how about you post all the plays that should have resulted in suspensions that weren't....i think thats the grip
The league frequently explains that penalties are worse when guys aren’t actively engaged in a confrontation and ready to defend themselves.

Here both guys were engaged and had sticks up from the beginning. In Greig’s case, the play was over, he was skating towards his team to celebrate the win. It’s not remotely similar.

Even then Chara should probably have gotten something.
he cross checked the guy in the head, who cares when it was or what the circumstances are, if we are holding everyone accountable.

Do i need to link the cross check to simmonds head a few year ago that got nothing as well?

The Simmonds one was terrible, but where were other 18 cross-checks to the head in that game?

As for riding up the shoulder, look again:

So you're saying someone took a number, then punched him another time when they played? Not hit him in he head with a bat while rounding the bases and the game was over?

Rielly losing his cool, and cross checking Greig deserves the suspension

I dont see how its 6, 10, 15, 20 games ling

3 or 4 games is what I think is fair for a 1st time offender like Rielly. In the future if he wants to defend the code, he will drop his gloves and/or wrestle a guy down.
Lets be real, Rielly cant fight. Thats why he cross checked Greig in the head.

Bit of a bizarre argument on your part since they are different games with different rules, protocol, history, and yes different codes. Do you see hockey players pick up the puck and whip it at another player for doing something wrong like pitchers do in baseball?
