More than 2.
Marty McSorley on Brashesr.
3 flyers at a leafs game in the 70’s,
Others just can’t think of them all.
Doesn’t happen often though.
Dino Ciccarelli arrested for assault is probably the most famous one.

Throw the book at him. I've never understood nor accepted these stupid codes and the deliberate injuring of the opponents in hockey. Nothing wrong with clean hits and wrestling-like battles but hitting unshielded body parts with intent to injure is pathetic.

Would certainly serve the Leafs well to have their 1D serve a suspension of meaningful length.

Yes, the league makes it up as they go along, no consistency whatsoever. Explain to me why far worse incidents receive no suspension at all but the league sees this one differently.
The league clearly sees this a one of those “far worse” attacks.

Lmfao at all the persecution complex from Leafs fans.

He'll get 6 games, just like Perron did for crosschecking Zub in the head after the whistle.

Anything less than 6 games would be a double standard.

They are all terrible. It’s just a whataboutism on you and the other poster trying to defend the play that the topic is discussing. Fact is it was a dangerous non hockey play after the whistle.

I don’t think you know whataboutism is. This discussion is about precedent.

Is the Sens player hurt?
I know if a Leaf had done this, I would think what an idiot and he deserved a whack, however my opinion would change if they were injured
How does a potential injury safe guard the act? Oops, I tried to shoot you, missed though.. No problem right?

Agreed. Six games. Don’t know how the league justifies more, considering the Perron comparable.

If someone can give a real explanation as to how those are not suspension worthy and Rielly’s deserves 6 games I’d be willing to hear it…

“Because that’s the new standard, obviously!”
The more likely scenario is you'll get some explanations of how they all meet the standard for a suspension, because, well, they all do.

I don't think anyone ever has suggested that the DOPS is the model of consistent application of the standards, but when they do go over what the standards are, and lay out what should be considered for suspension, the hit by Reilly checks pretty much all the boxes.

Defending Reilly's actions by looking to instances where the DOPS obviously dropped the ball (puck I guess) isn't really as strong an argument as some here seem to think it is, though I guess it does play well with Leaf's nations' persecution complex.

We had a 50 year old in net the other night on short notice at my game cuz our tender blew out his shoulder. He sucked ass. Other team beat us 7-1 and were celebrating hard and screaming even on the 7th goal. So far worse than what Greig did.

You know what me and my teammates did? Nothing, other than calling them chumps for rubbing it in.

Reilly lost his composure and nothing else is relevant.
Exactly the kind of guys you don't want on your team

Also comparing beer league to NHL is lol

whataboutisms. : the act or practice of responding to an accusation of wrongdoing by claiming that an offense committed by another is similar or worse.

Edit: Literally what happened
