Because you don't have any and you are afraid to look bad by naming someone who later busts somewhere.
Firing people is not an answer unless you have an improvement in mind.
I've actually repeatedly written who I want, and it's weird to soar in with your level of condescension because you missed it; that's a you problem, not a me problem. If I were choosing, then we'd have Tulsky or Zito as GM and Knoblauch or Lavi as coach. I've been thumping for Knoblauch since he designed our controlled entries under Hakstol, which incidentally became the strongest aspect of the team's offense.
Here's the other thing, though: Those positions aren't the real problem. The REAL problem is higher. That piece of shit Clarke has done so much goddamned harm to this franchise that he's undone his legacy as a player, which is meaningless to the strong majority of the fanbase since not many of them were alive for it. He has set the direction and culture of the team, filled it with people who think like him, and then those people hire coaches and GMs and those people also think like them, and as a result they suck ass. All while scouts who think like them have eternal tenure while failing to find talent, and the development team that thinks like them turns all skill into dust.
I remember when there were Commanders fans who told me the same thing you're telling me. I said then, sometimes management is so goddamned bad that it's hard
not to improve on them if you've gotten rid of the root of the problem. I've been proven right on that front. The Flyers are the same.
I mean, is that why you think we should keep everything the same and keep doing all the stuff that never works and never will? Because you personally can't think of anyone better?
