When’s the deadline to submit a list?
I'm afraid that the Flyers think they did something good. At best this is a nothing burger and just moves contracts off the books, but there's nothing in the pipelines that I know of that makes it a necessity to get contracts off the books.
Not really. I mean Farabee isn't as good as Laughton at LW right now.
Frost was a 3C playing in the top 6. They weren't going to pay real money to keep him around.
They should have got a better return, but neither player was in their future plans.
Kuzmenko - Couts - Michkov
Foerster - Cates - Brink
Tippett - Laughton - TK
Pelletier/Abols - Poehling - Hathaway
Now the real question is what's next.
Making this trade now signals Briere has written off this season, and is open for business, so I won't be surprised if Laughton and Risto are traded, maybe Hathaway, Poehling, and Seeler might waive his NTC to go to the playoffs.
Weird. Almost like that’s the exact timeline they’ve always been operating on.Dreger said on Barn Burner podcast Flyers want to go big game hunting maybe as early as this summer. Rated the trade to the Flames favor
I haven’t fact checked this:The trade developed while the Flames hosted the Anaheim Ducks, and Pelletier was pulled from the game. The 23-year-old played 5:22 of ice time.
NHL analyst makes his thoughts clear on Flyers' 'big' four-player trade with Flames, reuniting Andrei Kuzmenko and $2,850,000 forward
NHL insider Carlo Colaiacovo on Friday weighed in on the Flyers-Flames 'big' four-player trade. The co-host of TSN’s First Up called the trade a “needle mover.www.sportskeeda.com
If only there was a potentially available 1C that they could have tried to use those pieces to acquire.Dreger said on Barn Burner podcast Flyers want to go big game hunting maybe as early as this summer. Rated the trade to the Flames favor
Dreger also said they didn't want to have to move Farabee (from a "senior source" last night)
No kink shaming on HFWe're f***ed. Like dry anal f***ed.
Sorry, we don't do development in the NHL.I wonder if this means that Foerster goes back to C? Maybe Michkov gets a try at C as well?
But then they wouldn’t have had the leverage the get kuz or that sweet sweet 7th.OK, winner winner chicken dinner for the dumbest f***ing thing anyone's said about this deal. If they didn't want to have to move him, the solution was, quite simply, f***ING DON'T!
LLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLing in the rain here
They're not going to resign Kuzmenko. He's here only as a sop to Michkov.
He waived his NTC probably b/c he's been a healthy scratch lately, is entering a contract year and hopes to get more PT in Philly than he was going to get in Calgary.
i said this a while back...there is no one i really like on this team..it is a pretty unlikable team over allGot me thinking who do I even care about on this current roster. It was always a team fan to be first, then the last 10 years this organization did everything to make the players the more likeable part of the equation... and now, its basically.. who for me? York, Sanheim. Konecny.
Attachment to 3 players and 0 f***s given about the franchise. Phi management did marvelous job
I have no idea what they're going to do. Happily admit that.
What I don't quite understand is the combination of ideas that they specifically acquired Kuzmenko for Michkov AND they have no intention at all to keep him. If that's why, wouldn't they want to keep him?
I think his late father liked the flyers. Flyers got so lucky with that, but we need to get MM out of here asap. This next 10-15 years will be so much worse than the last.Michkov wanted specifically to play for this organization.
This kid might actually be a dumbass
Let's take a look at Briere's body of work so far since he was hired on 5/11/2023
Outside of the Provorov trade and lucking into Michkov, every move has been questionable or actively bad.

That doesn't tell the whole story. He was injured early in the season (or preseason, can't remember) and Flames took a risk hoping they would be able to sneak him to AHL while every team had their roster spots full. He played well after his call-up (and played PPG in the AHL before that), and 100% would not have cleared waivers if he was waived today.
