More MVP Worthy Player: Mackinnon, Kuch or Drai?

Games played are obviously not the only metric lol. However, I don't think goalies play enough of their teams games these days to be considered for the MVP. Just my opinion.
Helly had the same amount of wins as Colorado and Edmonton :)

their position plays a lot more in a team success than 1 forward skaters.

But i understand points and goals are the sexy stats..

I'll say it again: it's Makar. People just instinctively leave a defenseman out of the conversation and it makes no sense. Easily the best player in the league.
Dmen really get the short end of the stick in these MVP awards. Last one was Pronger in 2000 and the one after that Orr in 1972.

Goalies don't usually win shit either. Unless you are a forward good luck with that.

Hellebyuck's leads in many stats are amazing, but, to be honest, his backup's stats are also better than of many estabilished top goalies in the league.
To fair Comrie was doing very good now.

but initially the first half ot the year. He couldn’t win the Jets games,

But yeah

Hopefully he gets to be part of Jennings.
But still 3 games
the Kings can pull all shutouts of their remaining games

I still think the top 2 players that were the combination best players and most valuable to their team were Draisaitl and Mackinnon this season. I think Hellebuyck and even Makar have reasonable arguments as well. I think all things considered Draisaitl should still win the Hart regardless of missing games. No one in the league scoring 10 or 12 more points was more valuable to the success of their team then Draisaitl was in my opinion. I think Draisaitl was the overall best player in the NHL this season as well. I thought Mackinnon was the best player in the NHL and most valuable to his team last season. We will see how the voters view things this season.

I've decided my vote, Pasta (for the memes and also because his nickname is food, I never eat pasta but I enjoy food)

You ever hear tell of a guy named Alex Ovechkin? Patrick Kane? Taylor Hall? Corey Perry? Or even Nikita Kucherov?

All wingers. None known for their defensive play. All Hart winners in the last 15-ish years.
There's a difference between not being known for defensive play, and being one of the worst defensive forwards in modern NHL history

The most MVP worthy player is the only player in the top 10 in points (he’s currently 8th) in the league who plays for a team that isn’t sitting comfortably in a playoffs position, and as a matter of fact his team is near the bottom of the league: that’d be David Pastrnak.
He’s got 86 points, followed by Marchand with 47 (when he was traded, Pastrnak was at 78 points), then Zacha with 44.
Incredible what David managed to do in such a cursed season for the Bruins. Amazing.
I think if Bos was in the race at all Pasta would be my front runner.

Remarkable season pretty much by himself.

True competitors fluke once and never reach the grand stage again. Lucky for them the team they beat was tired from dominating too much. True competitors tho.
Not all teams get the benefit on a phantom 5 on 3 to avoid losing in the first round

Hellebuyck SV .925 GAA 1.99
Comrie SV .913 GAA 2.36

Kuemper SV .922 GAA 2.01
Rittich SV .889 GAA 2.71

Vasilevsky SV .921 GAA 2.17
Johansson SV .901 GAA 3.03

First of all, despite Hellebuyck leading all goalie stats, the other finalists are very close. He is not dominant.

Secondly, his backup has much better numbers than the other finalists, which tells you that it's more about the team defense, the Jets have a good one.

Thirdly, he plays on a strong offensive team, top 3 in goals, top 2 PP. It's not like he is carrying a team with 1-0 wins. Even the last game, a shotout is cool, but it's 4-0, what would have changed if he had allowed 1 or even 2 goals? Nothing
He deserved the Vezina, but he definitely didn't deserve the Hart Trophy.

Pasta playing with 3rd liners and doing what hes doing is insane , that said being a non playoff team he wont be in the conversation .
It's obviously crazy but most guys who don't make the playoffs are disqualified from MVP talk. Much less a guy whose team is in last. Since 1960, only one guy who missed the playoffs has won Hart and it was Mario in a year where he outscored 2nd place Gretzky by 19 points and scored 70 goals (14 more than second place Craig Simpson). Pasta is having a great year but anyone who thinks he should be taking votes away from Drai Kuch Helle and Mack is delusional. He doesn't even deserve a third place vote in my view.

Not all teams get the benefit of having Nathan MacKinnon 120 feet off the bench when Kadri scores an overtime winner with 5 other guys on the ice with him in a cup final game where the statkeepers literally had to decide whether or not 6 guys would get a +1 on their plus/minus because their software registered 6 players on the offensive side of center ice with no one within 30 yards of the bench, but you don't see people holding that against Colorado.

Yea, he can produce with Raanta, he can produce with Nescas.... Anyone.

MacKinnon's most common linemates are Raanta/Necas - Lehkonen, Draisaitl most common linemates are Arvidsson- Podkolzin ;)
Let’s just pull up ice time totals these line mates have compared to drai…

Uh-oh. You better send your poor analysis to FanDuel! Things are going off the rails!

I'd still have it as Draisaitl. Missing a few games may have hurt his chances, but he is definitively more valuable to his team than Kucherov or MacKinnon IMO. And yes, Draisaitl has been better than McDavid this season.
