Bauer taking on the leagues toughest. Not an easy way to earn a living. That fight was as old school as it gets.

Glad to see Salomonsson playing well.

I'm wondering if the org is getting a bit frustrated with Lambert. They have been moving him all throughout the lineup the last number or weeks. He's now playing wing on the third line with a couple grinders in King and Suess. Maybe this is their idea of trying to get him to up his play in the tough areas.

Wagner playing real good hockey. He's a smart player that has good speed, strength, positioning and skill.

Zhilkin has played well and seems to have taken King's spot on the third line more as this game has gone on.

Lambert hasn't been much of a factor so far.

He's the top point getter on the team. Literally drives most of the offense. Pretty limited offense on the team, with Chib hurt. Whatever line Lambo is on is the #1 line.

Which Moose player would you say is best suited to be the 15th forward right now? How does Salomonsson look on the PK?

Nice to see Wagner adapting.

Moose tied with Wild for 2nd worst in the league behind Isles farm team, even with the improved play. Most guys now are playing for contract extensions, or to get the attention of the Jets brass for depth purposes in the playoffs. Seems like the development angle is a wash.

How was Driedger?
At the game. It's surprising to me the Moose aren't using any of our forward prospects on the PK. Zhilkin and Wagner if they make it will make it as depth forwards. Both should be getting PK reps imo.

Probably Toninato or JAD. Both are playing solid and tenacious hockey right now.

Hate to say it but Lamberts battle level is nowhere near playoff level atm.

If Namestnikov is out for a bit it will be interested to see who gets recalled.

I wonder if Salomonsson gets an NHL game or two at the end of the season. Then my mind wanders, and I think, can he play his off-side well enough to beat out Stanley, Fleury or Miller on the 3rd pair left side.

I'd try almost anything to not have Stan in the playoff lineup.

He's having a nice second half to the year. We are going to need a couple of Wagner, Zhilkin, He, Levis, Julien to turn into good depth players.

So far I'm really liking what I see from Wagner. I think he has all the tools to be a solid 3rd line winger if all goes well.
Yes. He’s really stepped it up as of lately. Zhilkin has also been quite noticeable in good way. Needs to start racking up some points though.

Great stuff.

I’ve paid zero attention to Wagner, but from these recaps he looks to have some nice hands and vision and the patience to pull things off. Looking forward to seeing more but always a good sign when a prospect seems to be catching up to the pace of the next level.

Good to hear about Wagner.
I just went to see the Moose stats for the first time in a long time.
I check out the OHL and WHL stats every single night but I haven’t looked at the AHL in a very long time. I guess My future hopes are pinned to the next group after this AHL group.

I was at the game tonight. Moose just have a very hard time playing the Jets schemes. The Moose are a pretty poor forecheck and cycle team and they remind me of some past year Jets teams where they have no breakout scheme and continually cough it up, and can't defend the front of the net worth a damn.

Coach is also deferring to vets too much in certain spots. Salomonsson is a much better QB then Coughlan yet Coughlan is on pp1.

Salomonsson was on the ice for a lot of goals against but only one (OT) I'd say he was at fault for. His partner in Sautner is just awful. Coughing up pucks in awful situations. Did a lot of what he does well and shows a lot of poise on the pp with the puck. He walks the line really well and knows when to shoot and when to pass. Coughlan is far more stationary on the point.

Lambert outside of one really bad turnover at the oppositon blueline played a strong game. He transitioned well, and made a couple excellent passes. Should have had a few more assists. He was also mixing it up a lot more in the tough areas.

Wagner was pretty quiet tonight. Had one good look off a rebound but otherwise wasn't too noticeable.

Zhilkin hustled and disrupted a lot but was maybe a half second off from creating some real dangerous looks.

For next year they have to really revamp the defense and bring in players that can forecheck/play Jet hockey at the AHL level. We will need it to privide support for the prospects coming in.
