Man the Bills better win the superbowl or this is going to be a dark, dark few months.

Fair enough, but again I feel like it would be difficult to find a trade partner that has what we need and that Nuge would be willing to waive for.
Make him an offer he can’t refuse.

The coach can jerk himself off to "his players" and "his philosophy" but if this scoring rate doesn't change, this dude is going to be back in the AHL soon. He can decide what he wants.

Your GM acquired a one shot scorer, is he a perfect player? No. But if your PP is struggling this badly, you are a goddamn dummy for not trying him on the PP out of misguided loyalty to under-performing players.

1 goal for RNH, Skinner hasn't been great, but if he'd been given all the non stop PP opportunities RNH gets, he'd probably be sitting with 5 goals at least by now, Nuge has a pathetic 1 goal.
Mr ONe shot scorer has a 5% shooting percentage and even some being from gimme areas. He misses the net tons too.

The reality of this lineup is Quarter into the season only two forwards, guess who? have more than 3 goals. Its not like anybody is auditioning for the PP. Janmark has been arguably our third best forward. Tells you all you need to know.

Little tired of "we have to get these guys going" The "Quality" of forwards we brought in were, I was told going to hit the ground running. Anytime now. WE're still wating for Connor Brown to show up and thats been starting last season. I dwell on this, I do, but when you acquire guys like Brown who just float through a season and everything is OK and he gets resigned it sends messages a pro org shouldn't want to be sending.

This team doesn't even pay attention to McDavid screaming anymore.

I think even you would admit Skinner probably would've potted 1 or 2 if he was given the huge amount of time RNH gets on the PP.

That would put him at 5 goals in 19 games which isn't the worst stat line in the world.

RNH at 1 goal and Hyman at 3 given the amount of PP time they get are basically the major problems right now.

Teams have obviously scouted the PP hard too and know RNH is no threat to shoot 99% of the time, so they are collapsing hard on Hyman net front, so he can't piss a drop now too. If the Oilers want to be stubborn they can keep be stubborn, if they want to give teams another thing to worry about or at least have to respect, if Skinner can pot a few on the PP, then it will change how teams have to play the PP.

I doubt they would have those totals here. Offense goes to die on our 2nd line.
They had 38 goals here just last season and prorated to 45. Guaranteed at this point that Skinner, Arvid and Podz don't match the last season totals of these 3 and probably don't even match the this season totals of the 3. It just is that we actually lost scoring in our lineup. We also lost Kane, and we lost 54 goal trademark Hyman. We were pretty much guaranteed to be scoring less this season. Yeah I was saying that too.

Omg and this organization and their inability to assess and evolve. The defence has largely been fine. Look at our defensive metrics. They’re good. It’s the mix on forward and the goaltenders that are the glaring problem right now.
Are you sure man? Our puck passing out of the D zone, along with rush chances, haven't been very good

Hyman and Nuge in general have 1 goal total on the PP ... they've been on like what? 50 PPs? 1 goal total?

lol.

At some point man you kinda have to try something different. f*** it, put Skinner in and even tell Podkolzin to stand net front, I bet we'd have more goals doing that on the PP right now.

Lets invent goals for Skinner that he hasn't scored and then say "that isn't the worst stat in the world"

J Skinner has been awful here. This just in. No wait, he has been since he showed up in preseason. If he wasn't an established NHLer he wouldn't have even made the team on his preseason *effort*

"Oh, its not regular season yet" I was told. It'll be December soon and still waiting for a Skinner showing. While playing on a new team, and you know, figuring the new guy should be trying to impress. He's impressed all the way to the 4th line multiple times this season.

I see plenty of rush chances, even guys like Derek Ryan are getting odd man rushes. Lots of blown odd man rushes unfortuantely.

Cody Ceci and Desharnais couldn't pass out of the zone for shit anyway, who is it you think was making fancy top 4 passes last year because it wasn't those two.

Kulak + Nurse has actually been a huge upgrade pairing over Nurse + Ceci. The 8 games prior to getting hurt in Toronto were probably the best Nurse has played in like 2 years.

Alright, lets just ride the same stupid shit into the ground then.

1 goal total for RNH + Hyman on the PP on like what? 50 Tries? With McDavid? It's almost as if (Gasp!) teams know RNH isn't going to shoot shit, so you can collapse on Hyman which then renders him obsolete.

But hey, Knob will get a free cookie for "not compromising the system". Right on his way to the unemployment line next to Woodcroft and probably back onto an AHL bus staying at those glamorous Motel 6s.

I wish we could trade one shot Skinner. But this magnificent management group who pats themselves on the back gave him a NMC. Jeff Skinner. Freshly bought out from the Buffalo Sabres, Jeff Skinner. Fourth line Jeff Skinner. They gave him a No Movement Clause. On a cap strapped team that may need options. Like why?

The stupid shit was the offseason. Staying with the same putrid goaltending, losing several worthwhile players, obtaining players who are no help at all. Wonder how many players on the team even believed this year. FRankly I don't blame a lot of them. Was a garbage offseason and the team got worse. Skinner has had a 1m/ game on PP and ain't doing shit there either.

This dog won't hunt. Maybe the players are noticing. I see us getting as far as 2nd round if that. We're no world beaters this roster.

Not sure what your issue is with Skinner. He’s getting horribly used right now. Has he been great? No but no one has.

Saying congenital stupidity would be rude. But here we are. I wouldn't trust JJ to clean my garage.

High noon Jeff Skinner would be shot full of holes and dead by now. One shot scorer!. Even his career shooting % is a pedestrian 11%. Not exactly great one shot numbers.

Well I guess they can go cry in the corner and give up because they lost (checks notes) Warren Foegele and Ryan McLeod.

Yeah, the 1990 Oilers didn't give up after losing Gretzky and Coffey and Fuhr, but I guess this group just quits after losing future Hall of Famers in Foegele and McLeod, lol.

Vegas loses Marchessault and Stephenson, they having a pity party too?

If this group gave up because they (lets be honest) guys who were primarily playing here in the bottom 6 ... f*** 'em I say. You got the mental toughness of a WNBA team, a shitty one.

You lose support players every year, the year prior we lost Kostin and Bjugstad. That's how shit works in a salary cap world.

I don’t even have a huge issue with the player. I have an issue that he is a player that has never made the playoffs and had been bought out from a basement dweller team. He has no experience with this team or really any of the players or management. Sure, take a flyer on the guy. But why give him a full NMC? He had no leverage. Now the coach doesn’t trust him and won’t play him. And we can’t even send him down, let alone trade him. Just brutal management.

We lost 5 players. 5 starters. Thats not including Kane who is out the season.

Have you watched Vegas? They look like first round exit shit right now. Every team in the division is putrid. Vegas are pretenders too. Last 5 games got blown up by Capitals, Canes, and even lost to the Kraken. Only teams they beat in last 5 are Anahem, barely, and Utah, barely. If you're gonna cite other clubs maybe watch them.

Well run teams don't lose several low cost very useful prospects in one offseason and then sign a bunch of nothings. Pods wasn't even a crapshoot. Was a bust already in Vancouver. He's not even an NHL player at this point. Arvid is expectedly not even in the lineup and injured yet again. J Skinner brings his 13M country club ass in here. The offseason was PUTRID.

I don't even know that there was a chance this was going to be a good room type guy. J Skinner has never been that guy. Mind you I had no faith in this guy going in.

Well he did have some leverage… he was a ufa and lots of teams wanted him.

I do wonder though… why bring a player in like that if you aren’t going to use him to his strengths. A skilled offensive player with nasty hands and a good shot but poor defence getting used on the 4th line with NO pp time is ridiculous.

So what? Many teams lose 5 players in a year. Florida lost 5-6 not insignificant players as well (OEL, Tarasenko, Montour, Stolarz, etc.). And they even started the year with Barkov hurt. Did they cry like a bunch of bitches?

In the playoff scoring they lost one guy in their top 10 scorers, Foegele who was 8th place tied with Janmark for points (Janmark had more goals). Brett Kulak had double the points of McLeod.

That's a bitch attitude, I'm sorry. Might as well remove your testicles while you're at it.
