Connor Brown is ASS, again. This season he has a lot of company. Gee who thought bringing in losers like J Skinner was a horrendous idea? Guy is a career floater that has never improved any team ever. What a clown offseason settling on this roster. Org doesn't even have a plan. Lets get all these tired dogs that don't move a needle and lose a handful of prospects/pace players. By the 3rd period Habs were skating Circles around us.

Connor Brown was one of the worst floaters out there. Flush.
I agree with everything you said, except Connor Brown is the least of our worries. Imagine a 2nd line of Perry and Podkolzin, 2 guys with a combined 2 goals being centered by Draisaitl. These idiots Bowman and Jackson have straddled us with absolute bums as wingers. Career failures and slow lethargic, low skill players. Someone please call these idiots out on social media. Let them know this city won't tolerate this kind of garbage.

FRom a coaching pov its usually work habits, presentation, how the guy practices etc. J Skinner was arguably our worst forward in preseason. Did absolutely nothing and he's an adventure usually in GA. The thought is probably that Skinner needs protection, weak opposition and line matching not to be his usual GA disaster. This was a heavily flawed player coming in that hs never had a complete game or bothered to. Not sure why people thought he was going to suddenly be honest here. Man, this guy is makng 13M this season to be invisible.

Well if Knob wants to get himself fired he can keep on scoring at this rate then.

Todd McLellan doubled down on the same idea with Ryan Strome ... refused to let him play in the top 6 even when the team was dying for goals, got himself fired as head coach thinking he was invincible because of 16-17. Strome got traded and immediately scores at a 20 goal rate in NY.

2 or 3 rough games, yes.

But also it's astounding to banish him to the 4th line with the rotting corpse of Derek Ryan when you watch our top guys make game-changing mistakes and nothing happens.

On Saturday, after gifting Toronto the tying goal, Bouchard was still out there. Where he then gift wrapped the go-ahead goal. After which, HE WAS STILL f***ING OUT THERE
He was horrid tonight as well.

Strome played with Drai a fair amount. Skinner has had his looks too. He's been invisible for the last dozen games.

Imagine if misuse of J Skinner, a player no coach would even want, ever, gets a coach fired. you can't be serious. J Skinner is a headcase headache for any coach. Wish the Flames got him instead of us.

Honestly, they need to change the way they play. We have the players I think to do damage on forward. They are just too perimeter. They don't play dumbed down hockey enough. Get a better goalie and a top 4 dman and we are rolling. If Big Di** Kane from that CGY series comes back, watch out

Precisely. I wish I had the ability to watch back that game and take some recordings.

MTL would cycle the puck after gaining the zone, but once the forward on the half wall got the puck he was driving straight to the net for a shot. Simple as.

But when we cycle and puck reaches the guy on the half wall he tries one of 3 things:
  1. Spins and sends the puck back into the near corner.
  2. Passes back to the defenceman.
  3. Tries to make a seam pass to a guy on the opposite side, but somehow isn't in the slot.

It is maddening to watch. We have the puck a lot and waste it too much. The coach needs to coach. Start telling these idiots when a guy has the puck at the half wall/behind the net, somebody get open in the middles. Their first instinct is to throw it to the point

Just make sure the D are not stupid pinching and ready for a counter. Enough with these stupid inefficient plays

You gotta use what you got. RNH is doing f*** all on the PP, put a shooting option there.

If Knoublaugh does not get the offense going soon he is going to get his naive ass fired. Stop being an idiot, young coaches here need to stop thinking they're invincible because they had one good season.

Strome was buried playing 3C a lot of the time under Todd and he refused to go away from it.

I didn’t watch the game and kept forgetting all night to check the score, just saw the final now. Can someone give me a rundown of the game?

Gazzola says he's heard its gotten to the point where the Oilers may just have to make a drastic move on their defence quickly

Defense has actually been the least of our problems lately. The secondary scoring has dried up this year. None of our forwards besides McDrai have more than 3 goals in the first 19 games of the season. Also, the goaltending has been last place in the league and we have the worst starter in the league.

I think we're missing Arvidsson right now, offence feels a lot flatter with him gone, he creates a lot more activity even if the shooting percentage wasn't there.

With him gone, last two games have been a struggle to score at even strength.

The players gone likely would not have the same numbers here either, we know how shit goes with our secondary scoring, there's always been long droughts there no matter who is brought in.

Every year, every coach ends up going back to McDavid + Draisaitl for stretches.
I'm not missing ARvid. Not at all. Worst shot on the team outside Podkolzin, but fires any shot from anywhere. Arvid is another popcorn fart here.. I guess you can't use the where he's playing angle with this one. He's had Drai every f***ing game. Not that it matters. Jesus couldn't get lil arvid to score some goals here.

I really believe if these numbskulls just concentrated on getting a man either open in the medium danger areas for shots or crash the net instead of the throwing it to the point, we would start scoring more. We have the guys to do it. Their mindsets are just bad. Coach should start coaching and instilling this. We are Kings at being inefficient

It's the same story with the 2nd line every year, at this point I'm not even caring much. Our 2nd line wings is where offense goes to die outside of a few hot streaks here and there which then revert back to nothing.

We haven't had a real 2nd line in like 8 years, probably more.

Not sure if you noticed but Skinner is getting a lot of shots, just like Arvid, and not scoring from anywhere. Not defending RNH by any means but at least he's a coaches type of player. I wouldn't even have J Skinner on my team ever but here we are this guy. Stuck now. Can guarantee you nobody in Buffalo would be missing this selfish player.

Even if he did I'm not sure Seattle is our best trading partner.

I mean the only goalie they're gonna offer is Grubauer and uh well the last 4 seasons he's posted .889, .895, .899 and .881. Plus he's making more than double what Skinner makes.

On defence all they're gonna offer is Mahura or Oleksiak. I'm not sure any of that moves the dial.
Doesn’t hurt to at least explore trades. I doubt previous GMs have even explored potential RNH trades.

The coach can jerk himself off to "his players" and "his philosophy" but if this scoring rate doesn't change, this dude is going to be back in the AHL soon. He can decide what he wants.

Your GM acquired a one shot scorer, is he a perfect player? No. But if your PP is struggling this badly, you are a goddamn dummy for not trying him on the PP out of misguided loyalty to under-performing players.

1 goal for RNH, Skinner hasn't been great, but if he'd been given all the non stop PP opportunities RNH gets, he'd probably be sitting with 5 goals at least by now, Nuge has a pathetic 1 goal.

Yuck, not a fun game to watch. Poor performance from pretty much everyone top to bottom. Particularly rough night for Ek/Bouch tonight imo. Hopefully the effort is much better tomorrow against the Sens. Man our PP needs some sort of revamp.

Pickard was pretty sharp over all and probably deserved a better fate. (Although, I will say, if Skinner had let in that 2nd goal there would be 40 posts here raking him over the coals for it).

Efforts like this won't get it done.. On the plus side, J. Brown didn't stand out particularly badly tonight, so that's something i guess, lol.

Man the Bills better win the superbowl or this is going to be a dark, dark few months.

Fair enough, but again I feel like it would be difficult to find a trade partner that has what we need and that Nuge would be willing to waive for.
